Sheraton Fuerteventura Hotel

"Room Room at the Sheraton was an adapted one per our request. It was very spacious and beds comfortable . We had a sofa bed in room also for our grandson . Bathroom Very large , toilet had grab rails , however the shower needed more for improved safety . Seperate basin area with large wardrobes . Balcony had 2 large comfy chairs wicker with cushions ..perfect. ( I still think they should add another chair if 3 of us were staying ) I used chair from bedroom. No washing rack on balcony for swimwear to dry ! Housekeeping : hit and miss . Towels were removed every day but often not replaced ..or replaced with 1 or 2 …?? for 3 of us . I had to go to reception several times to ask for towels.. not good ! I also lost an earring , after 2 days I found it in base of shower .. to me shows it wasn’t cleaned properly . The reception check in was very slow and I kept asking for water , she said oh in a minute of course . It took about 15 mins for this to arrive . Tbh I would have expected a drink offered to us immediately on arrival in a so called 5 star hotel.( Which is isn’t ..more a 4 star. ) I am aware that it is being renovated and does need it , we knew this when we booked and appreciated the rooms were dated ,but corridors very gloomy and staircases very dark . Lifts were ok though and we could just about fit scooter in at a pinch . So accessibility was good around the hotel for my husband on his scooter. Apart from access from pool area to building , back to room , it was not an automated sliding door , someone had to open it . So be mindful if you are alone and have to use scooter or wheelchair . Outside The promenade is very poor , if you are disabled or have walking issues . Cracked tiles, holes and so on. No problem if able bodied . Good walk to centre and short walk to end of prom. The beaches are much better outside the Sheraton and Elba carlotta than Barcelo hotel areas ..(they are gritty ) . There is a good shopping centre a few mins walk away with shops, bars, supermarket etc. a super little cafe in the Spar , good coffee. Entertainment Fabulous kids entertainment in pools ,ie water polo , floaties allowed, bouncy castle in water ,foam parties , archery and football at 4 / 5 pm most days . Great for our 11 year old grandson .lots of kids for him to play with . I saw a great little ones pool with some entertainment , but don’t know about evening for little ones ? Games room was used by older kids and teens . Table tennis , pool. Piano bar was nice place to sit .. in or out during the evening . They had singers on most nights. Dining Inside and outside seating at breakfast and dinner . Super brekkie and some good , some not as good eve meals . The queue for freshly cooked meat and fish was awful sometimes at peak times . They should cook some ready instead of just cooking when asked . My husband could not stand there and wait , I did but often couldn’t be bothered getting in a queue to get a piece of cooked chicken . So didn’t bother , just got salad . La veranda : lunch outside and inside available ..good food , great spot , but I thought expensive drinks and food . So just went as a treat now and again . Ie 13.50 for a larios G and T ? Pizzas were good though , around 15 euros + I think . You could get take away for the sunbed . Would I stay again ? Maybe ? if the price was reasonable . The pool areas were brilliant , I could keep an eye on my grandson and relax too knowing that he was well looked after by the team when participating in an activity . The resort is very close to the airport so planes ✈️ going over but we knew that ( we wanted short transfer ) and it wasn’t an issue at all ."

"This is a difficult review to write because I genuinely wanted to like this hotel. I was hoping it would become my go-to Marriott Bonvoy property in Fuerteventura. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing in several ways. While there were some very positive aspects, the overall stay didn’t meet my expectations of a 5-star resort. Negatives * I understand that I visited during the school holidays, but the atmosphere felt more like a family summer camp than a luxury resort. There were screaming children everywhere, and the main pool area was extremely noisy, with children constantly running around while parents paid little attention. * The child in the room next to mine was screaming from around 4 p.m. until almost 11 p.m. It made relaxing in the room nearly impossible. * The corridors were frequently used as playgrounds, often with parents joining in. * I didn’t mind the slightly dated room design, as comfort is much more important to me. Unfortunately, the room felt damp, the air conditioning was malfunctioning (it only produced very cold air), and the control panel didn’t work properly. * Soundproofing was poor. I could hear conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms as well as footsteps from the room above. * The Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent. * The shower gel dispenser in the shower was empty upon arrival. * The Bonvoy app notified me in the morning that my room was ready following my online check-in. However, when I arrived (before the official 3 p.m. check-in time), I was told I had to wait. I eventually received my room keys at 3:40 p.m., which was frustrating. * The gym is located in a dark basement and feels rather uninspiring for a resort of this category. Positives * The gentlemen at the front desk were genuinely friendly and helpful during both check-in and check-out. * Excellent Marriott Bonvoy Elite recognition. I received a complimentary sea view upgrade, a welcome drink, a welcome amenity in the room, and complimentary access to the spa, all of which were greatly appreciated. * The breakfast was very good, and I especially enjoyed the dedicated espresso coffee station. * The gardens are beautiful, spacious, and very well maintained. Overall Overall, I believe this hotel has great potential, but in its current form it simply isn’t the right choice for travellers seeking peace and tranquillity. I would happily return after the planned renovation, especially if the hotel introduced adults-only areas. Given the size of the property and the fact that it has four swimming pools, dedicating one wing, one floor, or even one pool area to adults-only guests would significantly improve the experience for those looking for a quieter stay."

"We went as Family of 4 from 19th July until 2nd August. It was my husband and two daughters 26 and 15 yrs old and myself. We had a fantastic holiday. We arrived in evening after hour delay and was greeted by cava and orange juice .David at reception set the tone of total friendliness from all the staff during our holiday . We were given an upgrade and our case were taken to our 2 rooms . We were half board and went in to lovely buffet meal . Our rooms were very large and our balcony was massive with table chairs and sunbeds on communal balcony. So large that children were sometimes playing football in early evenings .But also very quiet . We had amazing pool and sea view . We had many early evening sitting comfortable there . Our daughters were in room next door that was perfect. Our bed in room was so large 3 people could have slept in it . The bathroom had bath and shower and twin sinks and separate toilet. There was good waldrobe space , free safe , a small fridge. Our one didn’t get as cold as our daughters but we just asked for ice from bar for our drinks on balcony early evening also for our water around pool .The hotel had many pools . One large one that was very cold and salt water . Was lovely to plunge into on hot days . The others were heated . There was many activities run by pool during the day run by Aaron who was so fantastic with everyone and encouraging to get you involved and always helpful. From water polo , foam parties , inflatables , even a white party in evening with DJ and entertainment. There was no morning rush for sunbeds . There was always beds available. This was such a plus for us and made the whole holiday experience very relaxing . There was always sunbed ,towels available too . The absolutely best selling point of hotel was being on beach . Being so near to beach and easy accessibility was brilliant . We all swam in sea every day . The beach was golden sand and crystal clear water . The ascetics of hotel were beautiful with water fall , plants and gardens. The food was amazing. Breakfast so much choice . In the evenings they had themed evenings eg Mexican , Arabica, Spanish , Italian, French, barbecue etc . My daughter is vegetarian and always found something she liked . So much choice. . The real stars of hotel are staff who are totally amazing . Everyone friendly and extremely helpful . A special call out to Samual , Mateus , Antonio , Rachid in restaurant and bar . Also Tom who greeted us every meal and Oneal who seemed to manage restaurant smoothly . Michaela made our daughter’s birthday very special. She arrange for something in room and at evening meal with cake, candles and ice bucket . Just overwhelming and amazing for her . Also reception staff so friendly booking taxis etc . There was evening entertainment each evening, some really good , rock guitarist , Chelsea a singer . Other not to our taste . Could do with tribute band . We didn’t go into kids entertainment with magicians, juggling etc but looked packed with kids . Maybe entertainment could be by pool in evening sometimes? The white party was a good place to have to mix it up a bit . Just a thought . The hotel was spotlessly clean . Housekeeping cleaned our room every day and changed our bedding every day . Sometimes housekeeping was hit and miss and didn’t have bath towels but a quick mention to receptionist and they were sent straight away . Sometimes restaurant very busy with cues at stations, but we found sitting outside was the most relaxing dining experience . We also visit spa . Just amazing with freeze plunge pool , sauna , steam room , heated loungers , jets and indoor pool . Fantastic treatments . Was very much worth a visit . It was only 4 euro to get taxi to town . Or 25 min walk . There was handy supermarket in one direction just 5 mins . Then other direction the harbour with loads of activities to book eg kayaking , paddle boarding, swimming with sea lions etc . We loved going to piers music bar next to Irish pub for lively live music evening . We throughly enjoyed our holiday we made many friends as everyone so friendly . This must be down to good management to set this culture. Thank you to everyone for helping to make holiday relaxing experiences. Looking forward to seeing hotel after refurbishing."
