"I write this coming to the end of our second stay at Aluasun Costa Park; the first being the same week two years ago. My review was positive then and remains so today.
Location:
Google Maps says the hotel is around 25 minutes walk from the beach and the same from the town; we're both in our 60s and managed to leisurely walk to the beach in 15 minutes and the same to the top of the town.
If you don't feel like walking there's the free shuttle bus from the main road outside the hotel which is less than a minutes walk. This is also where the transfer busses drop-off and pickup. It's only a short walk to the hotel but it is quite a steep hill.
My top tip is not to pay around €35+ for transfer when booking. It's less than €20 in an airport taxi and around €15 in an Uber.
Accommodation:
Once again we were in the building separate from the main building, this time on the 11th floor with a sea view.
The room was large and appeared to have been decorated since our last visit 2 years ago. It had 2 very comfortable single beds pushed together, air conditioning that worked well, a good sized balcony and a bathroom with bath, shower, sink and a separate toilet area with bidet. There's also a hair drier.
There are some reviews that describe the rooms as dated, including my previous one, but in all honesty it boils down to the tiling really. I'd say the rooms are on a par with an average Premier Inn or Travelodge in the UK. However, Costa Parks additional star rating comes from it's food and facilities.
Food:
Food choice is excellent with plenty of hot and cold choices for breakfast.
Both lunch and dinner have multiple choices to suit many tastes and nationalities. Hot food is always fresh and hot and replenished regularly right up until the end of service.
Snacks are served from the pool bar almost all day and again are freshly prepared and regularly replenished.
Facilities:
With extensive grassed grounds, 2 pools, a splash pool and the mini water park, as well as more than enough sunbeds and 2 large seating areas close to the pool bar, There is always somewhere to sit and relax. For a couple getting away from grandparent duties for a few days this was important and whilst there were children doing what children do, we were always able to find somewhere quiet when wanted.
Bars:
Both bars are well stocked with good quality local spirits, local beer and wines.
A token system is in operation for plastic cups at the pool bar and glasses at the terrace bar. Tokens are available from reception. Glasses and plastic cups can be changed for clean ones at any time or tokens to use again if preferred.
Entertainment:
There's plenty happening day and night for both children and adults. The ending entertainment starts with the children's disco and is followed by the adult entertainment which includes dance shows and themed performances.
Staff:
Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. They work hard every day to make guest stays as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and it shows.
Top tips:
1. Take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
2. Bring a travel kettle. If, like me you're an early riser it's difficult to get a coffee before breakfast service.
3. Make sure you get your drinks tokens when you check in. There's almost always a queue at reception.
Overall opinion:
A great hotel that provides excellent value for money."
