"My partner and I stayed at Hotel Best Siroco for four nights from late June into early July 2026 and overall we had a really enjoyable first holiday abroad together.
Before arriving, we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the recent reviews, but after staying here myself, I honestly think many of them are quite exaggerated. The hotel could definitely do with some improvements, but did it ruin our holiday? Absolutely not. We left having made some great memories and felt the hotel offered good value for money.
We booked a standard room but were pleasantly surprised to have a sea and pool view which was a bonus! The room itself was comfortable and cleaned daily to a good standard. That said, the rooms are beginning to look a little tired and could certainly benefit from some refurbishment and modernisation. It didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday but it's something worth mentioning. The Wifi was also reliable throughout the hotel which was another positive.
The hotel's location is excellent. The beach is only around a 300m walk away via the nearby pedestrian path, making it very easy to get to after a few steps. There are also plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants nearby, so everything you need is within walking distance. Despite being so close to everything, the area itself is peaceful and quiet, making it ideal if you're looking for a relaxing holiday.
The pool area was enjoyable, although I would say the pools aren't quite as large as they look in the hotel photos. One issue we noticed (which unfortunately seems common at many hotels), was guests reserving sun beds early in the morning and then disappearing for three or more hours before returning. This obviously isn't the hotel's fault, but I do think management could do more to discourage it, as it made finding a sunbed difficult despite many sitting empty for long periods. The pool opens at 10am and closes at 8pm. You have the option to pay €25 to use some sun beds and the infinity pool which I think is slightly unfair for some.
The biggest disappointment around the pool was the toilets. They really need more regular cleaning, as they often felt neglected compared with the rest of the hotel. This was probably the biggest issue we encountered during our stay.
We stayed on a half-board tariff. Food seems to be one of the biggest talking points in many reviews and while I agree the variety could definitely be improved, I don't think it deserves the level of criticism it sometimes receives. There was always something we could eat and although the menu became a little repetitive after a few days, we never struggled to find a meal we enjoyed. If you're staying for a week or longer you may notice the limited selection more than we did.
Breakfast was generally good, although it could get busy with queues during peak times. They usually moved fairly quickly, but if you prefer a later breakfast, be aware that some of the juices and drinks weren't always replenished. We also found it slightly disappointing that despite being on half board, water wasn't included with the evening meal. Having to pay €2.50 for a 1L bottle of water each night felt a little unnecessary.
The staff were generally pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. While no one particularly stood out, we found everyone polite and professional. Reception could be frustrating at busy times, with long queues for both check in, check out and general enquiries.
One thing future guests should definitely be aware of is the lifts. They seemed slow and unreliable throughout our stay and completely stopped working on our final day, meaning we had to carry our luggage down five flights of stairs. If you have mobility issues or are travelling with heavy suitcases, this is something worth considering.
We spent most evenings exploring the local area, so we didn't see a great deal of the hotel's evening entertainment. However, there was live entertainment during dinner on some evenings, which was nice, although it could be quite loud if you were hoping for a quieter meal.
Overall, despite a few negatives, as 2 teenagers, we genuinely had a great first holiday together. The hotel certainly has areas that could be improved, particularly the lifts, pool toilet cleanliness, food variety and room updates. Okay it may not be 4* standard, but it's nowhere near as bad as some reviews make it out to be.
Thank you for a great holiday!"
