"I travelled here with my husband and our 14 and 15 year olds. When we arrived (around 2am) the check in was smooth and the manager on reception was great, making conversation with my son. It would have been nice to have been provided with some water or food, instead we had to go and find a couple of bottles before we could sleep.
The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was beautiful and spotless and suited our needs. We had a fridge, lots of storage, and the bed in the mains bedroom was massive! The cleaning service was great, and we have no complaints on this front.
Unfortunately however, as nice as the room was, we were on a row with several dogs (I have never in my life experienced a hotel that allows dogs, making me think these may have been rented apartments or time shares). Now don’t get me wrong, I am a dog lover and have one of my own, but when I come on holiday I don’t expect to be woken up through the night, and early in the morning by dogs barking. Probably the most frustrating part was when you tried to escape the heat in the afternoon to have a siesta only to be unable to due to the never ending barking of dogs that have clearly been left in alone whilst their owners are out. We did speak to reception about this twice and although they said they would do something about it, it continued.
The entertainment was ok, but there wasn’t anything stand out about it, which is unusual as normally we return from holiday raving about a few of the entertainment team, but this just wasn’t the case. The hotel was very French, which of course is no issue at all, but sometimes the upstairs bar would be taken over by the entertainment team and French guest and nothing would be in any other language which meant we felt excluded from taking part.
One other thing about the entertainment I feel important to point out is that there is a missing opportunity to target towards teenagers. There were a considerable amount of teens there during our stay and whilst this is advertised as a family hotel, nothing was there for them to do. There was a kids club, there was things like shooting and sangria making for adults, but teens were left aimlessly trying to find things to do. There were pool tables, foozball etc but these took euro coins and the hotel refused to exchange notes for parents so kids were unable to use them. Had we known about this, we would have made sure to have coins with us. I feel when the hotel is so isolated, and they offer these games, they should also provide a means of parents accessing coins to ensure use.
One of the most frustrating parts of this stay for us was the pool bar, and the queues for drinks. Firstly, waiting to get a drink at any of the bars in the hotel was a mission! Usually it took around 20 minutes and more often than not the people serving drinks acted like we were creating problems for them. One one occasion I left without having been served, quite upset with how I was treated. This was mostly inside bars, not outside.
Regarding the pool snacks. We were there for 10 days and the first 7 snacks were served. We could tell that the demand was becoming an issue - they had one queue to order drinks and food and this clearly wasn’t working and staff were unfortunately becoming overwhelmed. Eventually after 7 days of our stay the pool snacks stopped being served. We were told these would be available in the restaurant, but they were not. We spoke to reception and were told they were being moved outside to behind the pool bar, so we went looking and again nothing was there. This was really disappointing. It meant that between breakfast and lunch there was no food available (same between lunch and dinner) and because there was no on site shop, we had no food at all. Part of the point of all inclusive (and this was all advertised) is that having the option to lie in a little and still be able to access food is massively appealing (especially having teenagers). This really put a dampener on the end of our stay.
Overall, the hotel itself is lovely, the pool is cold but really nice - the fact you get towels removed if you’re away for too long is a good thing! But there were just a few things that really meant the hotel wasn’t for us."
