Ona Hacienda del Alamo Golf & Resort

"Rundown accommodation blocks, though there is effort being made in the communal areas, which, unsurprisingly are the photos being shown. It’s hard to enjoy though when you’re returning to a room that’s like a prison cell with the most unusual layouts: pillars in the middle of the room and the second bed being inaccessible without disturbing the person in the other bed and no view whatsoever. The overall areas directly outside the accommodation blocks are shoddy. I was surprised when the room wasn’t serviced , asked at reception, only to be told, the rooms are serviced every four days. Why weren’t we advised this on check-in? To be fair, when I asked, the room was serviced once and fresh towels were delivered. The lighting to the blocks is poor. Breakfast is disorganised. I was there on business, breakfast opens at 07:30hrs but there were no staff around , we had to ask for them to come to help and when they did , it took 30minutes on the first day for the poached eggs to arrive and there was no apology. Also, right beside the buffet food there was a huge beetle , sitting in a cup. When we brought this to the attention of the staff there was a limp apology, but no follow up which I would have expected. We dined in on two consecutive nights, on the first night the food was delicious and the service was great. On the second night the food was lukewarm and the service was poor. Stayed here for 4 nights in low season. I’m not sure how they will cope in high season as everything seems to be rather disorganised, with very little customer care or urgency. On the topic of customer care, it’s interesting to see here on the trip advisor reviews, how the hotel manager responds to the positive feedback and ignores the feedback that could help to improve life for the guests."

"Following the negative reviews, I was very worried about staying at this hotel, however I soon found out that there was no need to be concerned. The area where the hotel is situated is on a large golf complex, yes surrounded by farmland, but I didn't find any issues with the location. The staff were helpful and pleasant and again I had no issues. I had booked a superior room which was situated a short walk from the reception area. The pathways and gardens were maintained and even though the resort was quiet, which I would expect in low season, I regularly saw staff cleaning the hotel and surrounding areas. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would stay again at this hotel."

"So to conclude i have travelled the world extensively lstayed in some dumps but this beats all a hostel would of been more luxurious stay away and don't waste your hard earned money .unbelievable"
