Leonardo Hotel Barcelona Gran Via

"Our check-in experience was very disappointing. In all of our travels, we have never encountered such an unpleasant welcome. We spent more than $3,000 CAD for our 10-night stay and, after more than 10 hours of travel, expected a friendly and straightforward check-in. We were the only guests checking in, yet our arrival was not acknowledged promptly, and the entire interaction felt rude and dismissive, which unfortunately set an unpleasant tone for our stay. That said, the hotel itself was okay. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was good for exploring the city with a lot of coffee shops and restaurants in the immediate area. Having a fridge in the room was also convenient for keeping food and drinks. I was surprised by some of the basic bathroom amenities. There was no Kleenex, and the soap provided at the sink and in the shower was a three-in-one product. There was a small round soap and two travel-size bottles, one containing bath gel and the other shampoo and conditioner. Thankfully, I always bring my own shampoo and had packed a few packs of Kleenex, but we ended up purchasing two bars of soap and a bottle of conditioner for our stay. The humidity outside made the hallway on our floor smell quite musty, which was noticeable each time we returned to the room. Overall, the hotel was fine for our stay, but nothing particularly noteworthy. The clean room, comfortable bed and good location were positives, but the front desk experience was difficult to overlook. A friendly and welcoming interaction should be a basic part of the guest experience."

"Awful Hotel. Three stars at best. Very poor value for Money. Shower cubicle blocked flooded the bathroom and you even need to go down and collect an iron like a budget Hotel if you need one."

"Excellent facility, well-positioned with respect to the subway and close to Plaza de Espana, reachable on foot in 10 minutes - equipped with a large reception and a gym. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so I cannot judge the restaurant dining room - which could also be seen from the outside and seemed large and bright to me - nor the quality of the food. Our room was located on the 6th floor with an excellent view of the square below. Excellent cleanliness and very, very good sleep quality - excellent mattress and pillows. There is a bathtub in the bathroom. I would suggest this location for those looking for a good-priced solution in Barcelona."
