"Lucian the bar tender was amazing all the time he was missed on his day off and his replacement Rashdeep Siani was an absolute contrast. He was very rude from the day we arrived. Had no manners and he was very discriminatory. Would not recommend to other friends and family as that was the plan for a reunion. If you are a person of colour. AVOID!!"

"We had a very nice time at the Grand Mutha Do Vale which is a very quiet 5 star hotel in the Albuferia region of Portugal. The Hotel is one of six in the local area and you are allowed to access all of the MGM hotels in the area. This was extremely helpful and made the holiday with MGM worth while. I was a little apprehensive about staying at this hotel as the reviews for several others were very mixed however it turned out fine. Whilst the Do Vale is a nice enough hotel i would say it is closer to 4* due to its size and the fact that they only serve local drinks which are poor in quality. The saving grace for this holiday was that the hotel provide free transport to any of the other hotels. We spent most of our time at the Grand Mutha Praia Da Oura which is a 5 minute drive away and served much better drinks. On the last day we spent time at the Grand Mutha Beach Club which was also better equipped with a much larger pool with slides etc for children. That said there were a lot of children jumping off a bridge into the water and i did not see a lifeguard. Both the Praia Oura and Beach front provide great access to the beach and all day snacks. We did not eat at their restaurants but there were always ques for Jac's restaurant. We did book into the free al la cart restaurants Italian, and Chinese and i would not recommend the Chinese. This said staff were friendly and attentive throughout the holiday at all hotels and their is a good cultural mix of staff. Our room which was a family suite and was comfortable, cleaned daily and all hotels were clean. The only worry is that the pools need attention as the tiling is falling apart leaving jagged edges in some places and a young lady sustained a serious cut on her toe which lead to her needing medical attention. Suezes from the kids club was also really good with my children and did not complain once even when my daughter told me that my son had been naughty. I would definitely visit again but would perhaps not stay at the Do Vale as it is a little bit quite for me however if you have very small children this could be the perfect stay mine are 6 & 8yrs and wanted to go to the better more lively pools. "Me and my older children went here in July 2026 had an absolutely fantastic time cheap and cheerful. It’s what you pay for and a little bit more I would say. It’s definitely not five star. Compared to other hotels in Portugal, Spain I would say it’s equivalent to a good 3 star poor 4 star"
