Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Towers

"We arrived late friday night, and while walking up to the desk one lady behind the counter asks «are you gonna pay??» we’re like huh? «Are you paying for the room» I’m like «…we’re here to check in?» Maybe let your guests talk before asking questions. Breakfast: It’s very minimal. They have one longer table and two small ones. We ate breakfast only the first day, you have to wake up quite early if you want to avoid chaos. We had a room at the 15th floor, the cleanliness was fine, but we found it hard to know when they came to clean the room. One day it was 10 in the morning, another it was after four in the afternoon. It’s not possible to open a window to let in air. Keep that in mind if you bring food to your room that smells a bit. The door has a «lock» alarm thingy on it for your own safety, but for us it became annoying since it went off every time we openened the door. We unlocked it first but it still made noise. One night we came back super tired, took the elevator up to the 15th floor only to find that our cards didn’t work. My friend went down to fix it and told me the man behind the counter did not apologize for the inconvenience or say much. When we openened the door we found that (most likely) the cleaner had left his card in the room light thing by the door. That’s why our card didn’t read. Also there was a rat that kept running outside in front of the hotel. Positive: location is very good, self service kiosk in the lobby:), they have luggage storage for free, big shower, not noisy"
