Corendon City Hotel Amsterdam

"Stayed for a couple of nights for the Harry Styles concert back in May. The hotel was fantastic. Minutes walk from the tram stop which takes you straight into Central and to the Stadium. The room was fantastic. Plenty of space. Spotless clean. Staff at the front desk were super friendly and professional, especially Victor Da Silva. We forgot european plug to charge our phones and Victor sought one out for us to use during our stay. There is a small shop in the hotel too for essentials if needed. Would definitely return next time we visit Amsterdam."

"Absolutely a great place. Rooms ar good with air-conditioning. Breakfast was great, even when I asked for decaff. Ther is a private parking area. Only a 4 minute walk to the metro = 22 minutes to Amsterdam center / Rokin station."

"We arrived at the hotel after a night flight, ready to begin an anniversary and birthday celebration. The moment we stepped inside, the experience changed. The night staff member at reception spoke to us with an arrogant and dismissive manner that immediately set the wrong tone. He told us we had to pay fifty euros per day as a damage deposit, which came to one hundred and fifty euros. We had never been informed of this and had no reason to believe it was correct. When I questioned it, he became increasingly agitated and insisted that without paying the one hundred and fifty euros, we would not be allowed access to our room. It was after midnight, the booking was non refundable and we were left with no practical option but to pay. The next morning, Booking.com explained that the hotel policy is fifty euros for the entire stay, not fifty euros per day. They confirmed that the charge was incorrect and that refusing us access to our room over a false fee was unacceptable and against safeguarding expectations. They also acknowledged that other charges, including seven euros fifty for room service delivery, were not properly communicated. The spa was the only part of the stay that offered any sense of calm. However, throughout our time at the hotel, we observed a clear difference in how staff interacted with guests depending on their skin colour. The level of warmth and respect varied noticeably, and the pattern was consistent enough that it could not be ignored. This stay was meant to be a celebration. Instead, it revealed poor conduct, incorrect charges and unequal treatment. The spa alone cannot outweigh the behaviour we experienced. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone."
