Amadi Panorama Hotel

"We have just got back from staying at the hotel.And let me start off the review by saying if we had of based our stay off of previous reviews read on trip advisor. This review could have been completely different. But wow the hotel is a gem. Yes its away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. But with the 26 tram right outside its not too far from the city. The room was lovely albeit a tad on the small side. But the little touches such as the complementary drinks in the mini bar made up for it . The bed was divine. As was the shower.... The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The hotel doesn't have a bar but they have fridges with alcoholic drinks you can buy. We loved the hotel so much. We'll stay the next time we go to Amsterdam!! The receptionists were all very polite and accommodating with any needs we had."

"The air conditioning didn't work. When we asked about it we were told you had to set the temperature and it would take a while to come down. It was at 25 and I set it to 18. When I came back a few hours later it was still at 25. Nuff said. You could open the windows but there's a notice saying mosquito's will come in if you do as the hotel's on the water. Also, the road is very noisy so make sure you have good ear plugs. The shower only worked after lots of trial and error pressing different buttons. The safe didn't work. There was no iron or ironing board. There was a room service phone, but the phone cable wasn't plugged in and I couldn't find a socket for it. It feels pretty run down and everything's either broken or on the verge of breaking. Avoid unless you can't find anything else. Definitely avoid in summer."

"The room was comfy and the beds were not too bad plus the tourist tax is reasonable as I thought it would be more considering it is Amsterdam. The breakfast that was provided was okay and filling enough until the next meal. Perhaps my fault but the hotel is located in an area which is mainly residential as the only restaurants we could find when we got there was a pizza place and a Japanese place a bit further out. The hotel entrance though feels like it's just another part of a business not a separate hotel and another problem being that help at reception is not available if you are heading back to the airport in the early hours but this is common in city hotels so one aware if you have an early flight going back to your country."
