"This was our fifth visit to Kenzi, and it’s easy to see why it’s become our favourite.
The hotel is always welcoming, convenient, and friendly, with a great atmosphere that kept us coming back. It was busier than we expected for this time of year, but the location—just a short stroll from the beach—remains perfect
Staff
The staff continue to be the highlight and the main reason we keep returning. Said, Abdullah, and Jamal always remember us and go out of their way to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. We’ve never had any issues with any of the team — they’re always friendly and eager to help. The gentleman in the restaurant (I believe also called Said) was especially attentive during meal times. As always, the staff are a real asset to the hotel
Rooms
The hotel feels bright and modern after the recent updates, and the rooms are definitely an improvement. Beds, however, are still rock hard. The air conditioning only runs until 1st November, which makes nights stuffy if you don’t want to leave the balcony doors open due to outside noise. A major plus: there are now plenty of plug sockets, including USB and USB-C on both sides of the bed. Rooms also have a kettle, cups, basic tea-making facilities, a fridge, a walk-in shower, and toiletries.
Pool
We didn’t use the pool itself, but by 8am all the sun loungers were already taken. The pool staff do a fantastic job helping guests find a spot when needed. On our previous visits, finding loungers was never a problem, but this time the area was so busy that some guests were even setting up on the grass verge due to limited space around the pool
New Snack Bar
It’s a shame the old kids’ club has now been turned into a snack bar — it used to be such a lovely feature for families. It seems they’ve chosen to prioritise extra food and drink service rather than keeping the supervised kids’ activity space, likely to accommodate the higher number of guests since the hotel became a TUI Suneo. The new snack bar itself is nicely set up with a selection of snacks, drinks, and outdoor seating — though you do get bombarded by wasps! The only downside is its location on the opposite side of the hotel anyone with mobility issues may need help accessing, we much preferred the atmosphere of the indoor main bar
Restaurants
• Breakfast: Beans, sausage, eggs, shakshuka, potato wedges, tomatoes, pancakes, omelettes, plus the usual salads, fruit, pastries, and cereal.
• Lunch: Chicken nuggets, burgers, lovely pizza, with a couple of mixed veg and potato/rice options. Cold salads and breads are also available. BBQ meat & fish daily The BBQ offered a good variety of meat and fish, but as we all know, large-scale barbecues tend to come with plenty of smoke. It actually filled the whole pool area with a strong meaty and fishy aroma — not exactly pleasant — though it certainly didn’t stop guests from queuing up for the food
• Evening meal:
Always a choice of chicken, beef, turkey, or fish with generous vegetable portions in traditional tagines. You’ll also find rice, potatoes, pasta, pizza, nuggets, soups, and fresh salads, finished off with cute little desserts and ice cream. Strangely, no chips.
The evening buffet is quieter if you go at 7 pm, but it gets busy afterward. Tables are available toward the far end, though it’s a bit of a walk back and forth. Fussy eaters may struggle to find enough options. But there’s always McDonalds etc just on the beach
Drinks
Bottled water is always available. Beer is local bottled Stork 4.7%, which is decent. Wine is good, local spirits and basic cocktails are available, and coffee machine drinks are okay.
Value for Money
Sadly the cost of this holiday has risen significantly over the years, but the hotel quality doesn’t reflect a 4-star price. I would rate it more as maybe a 3 star hotel.
Would We Return?
Not at the current advertised price, which is such a shame. We usually look for a cheap getaway in November because it’s off-peak, flights and hotels are cheaper, and it’s a good chance to enjoy a break without summer crowds. People say you get what you pay for—but not in this case"
