"I have to begin by saying the staff of this hotel do not warrant any criticism. They work very hard to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it can be.
They are welcoming also offering a friendly smile and are a credit to this hotel.
The hotel is situated in Orebric on the Adriatic coastline which boasts some of the most fantastic scenery and backdrop to a holiday any one would want. The stoney beach is a stones throw away , which allows the sea to be another playground with snorkelling and wind surfing options available. The pool is refreshing and the pool area clean with numerous sun beds on offer. A strict no enter pool area until 8 am is in force which seems to work , you want the best spot you have to get up early , queue up and you will get one.
Korcula island is a short ferry ride away 15mins and is a lovely mini Dubrovnik , a quaint charming old town full of boutique shops and restaurants for you to enjoy.
Rooms are adequate and clean , well appointed , we had a sea view but no balcony which was fine but I do like having a balcony to enjoy sitting out with a drink before meal times.
Food , often a contentious subject but overall we really enjoyed the food on offer at this hotel , offering a variety of dishes.
I’m going to begin to mention some negatives and one of those is at certain times in the evening the food hall was crammed , full of people , having to wait for tables to be cleaned and relaid , food was sometimes slow in coming out when it was taken and some ban Marie’s were left empty so obviously the food amount was mis calculated. A solution is simple .. more staff the staff that was on duty were rushed off their feet and couldn’t cope with the demand.
I’m now going to mention the all inclusive or full board plus as it should be called.
When I booked this hotel, I did what thousands before me have done tick the all inclusive box , THIS HOTEL IS NOT ALL INCLUSIVE … you only get drinks during meal times , even the coffee machine is switched off at lunch time. They are very pedantic where you can take your drink as well , certain areas are not allowed . for example you can’t take your drink from the restaurant and walk up the corridor to the outside terrace, a member of staff will stop you and redirect you back.
The bar area in the evening is very uninviting , often not staffed and not particularly well stocked , it’s as if they don’t want you to have a drink so many hotel guests go to the lambada beach bar an establishment not attached to the hotel but a short two minute walk away which offers a great vibe and music , the hotel are really missing a trick here and literally thousand of pounds are spent each year away from the hotel which doesn’t make any sense.
It’s a shame a good hotel could be great but sadly these points bring my score down from a 5 to a 3 star review."
