President Hotel 5* Valamar Collection

"This beautiful hotel is located outside the busy city, but there is a bus located across the street that can bring you into the city. These busses can get crowded, but they do run frequently. and this is the first stop. There is a lovely path along the sea with many spots where you can sit or swim. The hotel, including the rooms, is very clean, very spacious with magnificent views. Our first night the sunset was absolutely spectacular. As for food, there is a buffet with a wide variety of delicious choices. There is also a small restaurant with servers who are very friendly and helpful. The server we had Marija was not only warm and helpful regarding food at the hotel, but she also recommended outside venues that would introduce us to Dubrovnik and Croatian culture. I would advise going in early October, as we did not experience huge crowds. Later in the month restaurants and stores close for the season."

"The lobby area was bright and clean. Staff on desk very helpful. The view from there and the bar area wonderful. Our room was lovely. Wonderful sea view. Loungers on the balcony. Kept very clean. Buffet restaurant felt very unorganised. Any 5* hotel that we have ever stayed at has had someone show you to a table, whether it be breakfast or dinner. The food stations within the buffet restaurant itself always had empty areas. The choice was quite limited. As we were V-level guests, we were able to eat in Momenti restaurant, which we did for breakfast most of the time and evening meal a few times. I have to give a shout out to Verdun and Ivan. Lovely, friendly lads and very helpful. Quite disappointed with this hotel overall."

"This might be a long review.. Pros - very clean hotel and beautiful priceless views. It's perfect if you just want to sit and drink alcohol. Fantastic pizza restaurant very close and probably the best pizza I've ever eaten. Cons - NOT FOR FAMILIES!!!!! this should be an adults only hotel, there is nothing at this hotel for families whatsoever. My children were dismissed in parts of the hotels with the parts they were actually allowed in. There were so many adults complaining the kids were in the pool and the pool was the only thing for them to do. We were asked to leave and not make noise in the pool. There were no food options for the children at all. The food and drink was so expensive so be prepared to spend a lot of money. I'm pregnant so I couldn't drink anyway so there was nothing to do in the evenings after dinner as there is no entertainment or anything going on during the day or evenings. If you're travelling as a family avoid this hotel at all cost as our children were so bored and hungry and we ended up spending a fortune trying to keep them busy and fed. Was full of disrespectful adults moaning about kids being there.. If you don't want kids around then book an adults only hotel which this hotel should be. The Maro World (the bit for the kids) was shut a lot due to the weather, there isn't anything close for the kids so be prepared to have to travel away from the hotel to find things to do for the kids, we used Uber but their is a bus stop right outside the hotel. This wasn't the hotel we originally booked as our hotel closed early for the season and I would NEVER book this hotel or ever go back."
