"We arrived in Venice by train for a two night stay at Palazzo deli Dogge. I had arranged to pick up through the hotel to assist us from the train station back to the hotel on a water Taxi. Lodo met us…. But my mother fainted and was seriously injured on the platform. Lodo stayed with us until mom was in the ambulance, and during the next eight hours, the hotel personnel constantly stayed in touch with me to offer any accommodation that they could, and they did everything that they could. Despite this being a terrible event, I have to say the experience was so validating as a human traveling across the countries. The hotel is classic and beautiful and comfortable. The gardens are not to be missed.
I must mention the names of several people who were extraordinary. Firstly Philip, who I connected with prior to even coming to the hotel and who attended to my every need while he was on staff. Additional management Fabio and Maximillian, assisted with everything important in the moment. Scheduling water taxis with a wheelchair for mom, making sure she could enjoy the Palazzo as much as possible during her stay. Also, Sara in guest relations was constantly available to us. Because my mother was injured food was very difficult. I really appreciated Linda at breakfast service daily, and also Raquel at the bar, also daily for me! 😉
Both of them made a special effort to prepare food (even past midnight) when we got back from hospital. They specially prepared things for my mother that she could eat and really enjoy. Mom didn’t get any but let me tell you those cocktails are not to be missed!
Those were the stars… Honorable mentions would be Tahini Maria and Sidiqque. Both very kind, friendly and helpful with food and luggage.
The staff went above and beyond. I truly felt cared for in a deep and meaningful way. There really is not enough wonderful things to say…but because it’s a review there is one thing not so great. The shower gel could use another look. 😂
If I could say more or do anything more to express my gratitude and my forever good wishes to everyone associated with the hotel, and certainly with my stay, I would.
I think you get the picture though. A stay in Venice must include a visit to the hotel whether you are staying there presently or not. I’m sure, like me, you will want to return many times in life. 💕"
