"Beautiful boutique hotel, perfect for a long weekend stay! 15-20 minute walk into the city centre, near to the river and in a quiet part of the city. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The decor was beautiful. Lovely rooftop terrace to enjoy the city views too!"

"Whoever reckons that this hotel is 'centrally located' is clearly not familiar with Florence. It is a 15 min walk beyond Santa Croce; Santa Croce to Piazza della Signoria is 10 mins; PdS to the Duomo is a further 10 mins. Santa Maria Novella railway station is a further 15 mins. So, 'centrally located' it is not. Biggest criticism, though, is cleanliness. Our bathroom, frankly, was grubby. My wife cleaned it herself! The tiny elevator was also grubby (but we felt that cleaning it too was a step too far). The whole place needs a good 'bottoming' and a far more rigorous and regular cleaning regime putting in place. Breakfast was OK, albeit the hot offering was rudimentary and uninteresting. There was a reasonable supply of cold offerings. The lady in charge of the breakfast room was a sweetie. Our room was 403 - AVOID!!! It had no windows, only skylights, terribly claustrophobic. We asked about moving rooms but were told that the hotel was full, but they would 'see what they could do' later in the week. We heard no more about it. We had lost the will to live by then. Best thing about the hotel was Carlotta on Reception. Unfailingly pleasant and helpful. It's not her fault that her colleagues elsewhere let her down - particularly in the housekeeping/cleaning department(s). So, not a good experience, would not recommend. "

"Arrived at the Hotel & were informed we’d received an upgrade to a bigger room. Our room was not large by any means so can’t imagine a smaller version. We were placed on the side of the Hotel which was next to a construction site. The Hotel was not full, if I was the manager, I would have been more thoughtful. The construction was noisy and dusty., & as a result, we could not leave the window open during the day. We could not leave window open at night either as we got swarmed by mosquitoes. Sleeping in a tiny room with no ventilation & having air conditioning on is just awful. It’s a strange hotel., corridors that wind up & down stairs it’s easy to get lost and you’re often looking in to the back of house messy house keeping areas which is not a good look. The breakfast room is equally as unattractive. No windows. Odd decor. Best thing was rooftop area to watch the sunset. Hotel is centrally located. Not sure it’s deserving of 4 stars."
