Hotel Majestic Palace

"We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in this lovely hotel. We had a 4th floor room over looking the beautiful garden area, the sea and surrounding hills - quite spectacular!. The room was renovated and very comfortable. Previous reviews mentioned music from the rooftop bar above however it was hardly noticeable and stopped at 11pm anyway. Breakfast was good and the reception staff were extremely friendly and so helpful - particularly Anna and Esperito. Nothing was a problem. So glad we stayed here as it's in a very quiet neighbourhood - but easy enough to get a short train / bus into Sorrento, which is so busy."

"This is a quite old fashioned hotel that has all the ‘airs and graces’ of a 4 star hotel, but doesn’t really live up to that category in 2025. The staff are polite and efficient but the rooms are a little bit ‘tired’ and the room air conditioning doesn’t work very well (all adjustments have to be made by reception). The rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds and very nice newly renovated bathrooms with a modern shower. The hotel is very noisy and loud echoing clattering noises woke me up every morning at 6.30. The hotel pool is on the north side of the hotel so is in the shade from mid day. Wi-fi in the room was very intermittent. The rooms with even numbers overlook the pool but the balconies have no sun at all, so best to book a room on the south side (odd room numbers) Our balcony furniture was old, tired and rusty - definitely not 4 star! The pool bar offers a short selection of quite expensive and pretty average quality snacks, also no wine list at the bar as they want you to order cocktails… The main restaurant is a strange all white linen covered seat and full tablecloth experience that looks like a wedding reception, but the breakfast there was very average. There is a Michelin Star restaurant at the hotel but we didn’t try it. The hotel is located quite a hike from the centre and taxis in Sorrento are expensive."

"This was our second visit and I must admit, I might have unfairly rated 3 stars after my first visit. All staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Poolside bar/food/service was very good. Rooftop bar was lovely at sunset. We had a first floor room as opposed to garden last time, would suggest drainage issues with the garden rooms not as both your room and my sisters and second floor had no issues that we experienced last year. What would really make this 5 stars for me would be shuttle service into sorrento. We usually walk it, which is fine but after a full day wandering round Pompeii, we took a taxi in for our dinner reservation, which was 25€ one way. All that said, we will definitely consider staying again when we next return."
