Hotel Alpha

"We stayed here as earlier in the year the hotel confirmed it had an indoor swimming pool - IT DOES NOT!! TUI are still showing it has an indoor pool - DO NOT BOOK HOTEL ALPHA IN SANT AGNELLO"

"Upon arrival we had to lug our luggage up a series of steps which at 74 I found difficult. We arrived with two other couples and were told that we were lucky as we had been put in the old villa at the rear of the hotel. I was very disappointed with our room. Only two small bottles of shampoo/ shower gel and two small body lotions, shower caps and two small bars of soap but nothing else. No bottled water, very little in the mini bar. Meagre tea/ coffee provisions. One of my towels had a hole in it. Toilet roll was replenished on our last day with one that was half used. The air conditioning/ heating system was set so that it could never be above 20. The bed whilst comfortable had a thin duvet and I was cold so had to ask for another. The wooden shutters on our floor length window were broken,so as we were on the ground floor, we had to keep the patio doors closed. I had to ask for another key card so my husband and I could come and go independently. Two fellow couples asked to be moved into the main hotel as a result of their dissatisfaction over the rooms in the « villa » The main hotel is clean and well decorated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The gardens offered relaxing furniture options. But one area was close to a busy road so not too quiet .Breakfast was not varied enough. Too many cakes and pastries ( some left from the evening meal) . The evening meal varied in quality with the use of tinned peas and tuna. The meal was not a very relaxing experience. The head waiter rushed guests to make up their minds and he shouted orders to the waiters across the dining room. We chose to eat out half the time. The barman was really friendly. The location of the hotel was good as the station was 5/10 minutes away and it was two minutes in to the centre of Sorrento and also served I wNaples and a connection to Pompéi ."

"Hotel staff very friendly and polite. Grounds beautiful. Deluxe room was not to a standard that we would expect from that description. Pool very cold and debris from leaves in water- maybe because end of season? Location ideal for local transport links. Breakfast wax exactly the same across the 4 days. No more strawberry jam on last day .. odd. Fruit poor. No fresh orange juice yet we d paid for one the night before. It was synthetic juice. To be honest the breakfast was poor and many flies around the food- some food domes were broken so they could not be closed to protect the food. We ate in the hotel the first night .. again not good."
