Hotel Alpha

"We recently spent seven nights at Hotel Alpha in Sant'Agnello and had a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was going to be a particularly enjoyable experience. The hotel is situated in a pleasant residential area of Sant'Agnello, just one train stop from Sorrento. The station is only a short walk away and the surrounding area has everything you could need, including local shops, bars and restaurants, as well as a large supermarket. It is an ideal location for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area while being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Hotel Alpha occupies the original villa and a more modern building set within the extensive grounds, with around 70 rooms in total. We stayed on the first floor of the modern building, overlooking the swimming pool. Our arrival set the tone for the whole stay. The welcome at Reception was warm and friendly, and we were quickly shown to our room. The room had recently been refurbished and was extremely comfortable, with an electronic door lock, safe, minibar, flat-screen TV and very efficient air conditioning. The king-size bed was large and very comfortable, while the spotless bathroom had a walk-in shower, sink, WC and bidet. We also had a good sized balcony with table and chairs' In fact, cleanliness was clearly a priority throughout the hotel. Both our room and bathroom were immaculate, as were all of the public areas we saw during our stay. Our room did overlook the road to the side, so there was some traffic noise during the day, but this really wasn't a problem. The electric window blinds were very effective at shutting out the noise when we wanted to sleep. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day and were impressed by the choice and quality of the food. There was always plenty of variety, and importantly, there were lots of options for my wife, who needs to follow a gluten-free diet. The hotel catered for this extremely well, including serving a delicious homemade gluten-free pizza, which was a particular highlight. We also enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable bar next to Reception. There is an outdoor speciality restaurant as well, although we didn't get around to trying it — perhaps a good reason to return! The hotel grounds are extensive and beautifully laid out, with plenty of shady seating areas and sun loungers. There is also a good-sized swimming pool with plenty of loungers and a poolside bar, making it an excellent place to relax after a day of sightseeing. But what really made our stay special was the staff. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their friendliness felt completely natural rather than simply being part of the usual hotel service. By the end of our week, we genuinely felt as though we were staying with friends rather than at a hotel. Hotel Alpha gave us everything we could have wanted from our week in Sant'Agnello: a comfortable and spotless room, excellent food, lovely grounds and pool, a convenient location and, above all, wonderful people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Hotel Alpha is a place where the quality of the staff makes a very good hotel feel like a home away from home."

"Great hotel in good location for trips eg Sorrento, Capri and Amalfi coast. Hotel clean and food typically Italian. All of the staff including reception, waiting and cleaning were attentive, friendly and professional that couldnt do enough for you. There was even a burst water pipe that effected all of the region and staff kept smiling despite all of the challenges. Thanks Alpha an amazing Italia trip"
