"We recently stayed at Best Western Globus Hotel during our trip to Rome. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with several positives, though there are areas where the experience could be improved.
Our arrival was around 2200h. The reception staff were not particularly warm, but they were not hostile either—just very direct and straight to the point. One thing that could definitely be improved is guest orientation. We booked half board, but this was never properly explained to us upon arrival, so we had to figure things out ourselves. We were also only given one room key, which was inconvenient for a family of three as it limited flexibility when travelling separately. Two keys would have made things much easier.
The room itself was a decent size, clean, and equipped with air conditioning, which made the stay comfortable, especially after long days exploring Rome. The TV was a good size, and the fridge was restocked with water daily, which we appreciated. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day. The bedside tables were quite small and lightweight, making them noisy when moving items around. I also requested two extra pillows, but possibly due to a language barrier, this never materialised. Still, the bed itself was comfortable. The bathroom and shower were clean and functional, complete with a bidet, which is common in mainland Europe.
The location was very good—about a 6–10 minute walk to ’s Policlinico station. There are many restaurants, grocery shops, and food stores nearby, with reasonable prices, likely because the area is close to a university. The hotel is also near several hospitals, so ambulance sirens are frequent and may be an issue if you are sensitive to noise.
The food was acceptable, though the menu was limited. Breakfast was buffet style with sausages, bacon, eggs, salads, breads, pancakes, yogurts, and a coffee machine. Dinner was à la carte with only a small selection available, so guests staying longer than five days will probably try the entire menu. Drinks were not included and had to be paid separately. The restaurant staff were pleasant, though not always comfortable speaking English. It would have been nice to have more variety, including American, British, or Chinese options alongside the Italian dishes.
Check-out was easy, quick, and straightforward. Overall, the hotel provided a comfortable base for exploring Rome, especially because of its convenient location."
