"lovely welcome by sergio , lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you , great food especially breakfast there was an excellent selection. situated in a excellent location . we stayed in one of the suites my only criticism is it could have been cleaner especially the outdoor jacuzzi as you can see in photos it was very scummy and we had to clean it before we could use it . overall though we had a great stay and would recommend as staff were excellent"

"We stayed here for 7 nights and had the most warm welcome from Sergio the manager. Our room was cleaned daily and we had breakfast included which was delicious and plentiful. The hotel has an on site restaurant and the food and service was of an excellent standard. The location, the staff all made our stay perfect and would definitely recommend to stay here. "Booked with easyJet into the Skiathos Avaton Garden. Quoted as 4* by EasyJet. There seems to be 2 different areas, the Avaton and The Avaton Garden. There must be a difference as you pay €10 per night tourist tax in the main part, that equates to 4* and only €2 per night for the Avaton Garden block. This translates to 2* as far as the Greek government is concerned. Room 403 was ours, ground floor, centre of the ground floor and was furnished to a decent standard on arrival. This is Greece, it’s not a big hotel in London. Bathroom had toilet and shower but the hand wash basin was in the min body of the bedroom??? Air conditioning worked, cooled the room well but was noisy and we couldn’t sleep with it on. Fly screen fitted to the patio doors and the bathroom window. Bed was very comfortable. But, the first morning we seem to have had the international clog dancing champion in the room above. 6.30 in the morning lop, clop, clop across the floor above. Back and forward, this happened every morning for the first four mornings! When one of the other rooms ran their cold water, the noise from the pipes was like a small jet engine in our room. Conversations from people in rooms either side of us were very easy to hear and again disturbed us getting to sleep. You could even hear next doors mobile phone alarm extremely easily every morning. The sound of people going to the toilet in adjacent rooms (and it wasn’t just the noise of the toilet flushing that we could here) Even the noise of the cleaners in the morning woke us as they dumped their bags nd buckets right outside our room. There was little or no noise suppression built into that room. We asked to move after the first, second and third nights every morning after but were told there were no other rooms available. My other half was not sleeping at a all well. So we made arrangements to check into another hotel we had used on a previous trip, took the hit on cost and moved there as soon as we could. The pool was small, not deep and was described by a couple of people staying that week as “maybe not the best”. There was the usual sun bed issues, get up early for best choice, people reserving in the morning and not getting there until after lunch, what’s new, that’s life. The staff though, were brilliant, reception, bar, restaurant, couldn’t fault them. Breakfast was just what you get on holiday in Greece. Cereal, meats, cheese, eggs, mushrooms, yogurt, honey etc. If you want a full English with English sausage and bacon with Heinz beans, then stay at home. TUI seem to have the main block and EasyJet the Garden Hotel part. It definitely was NOT a relaxing break due to lack of sleep from noise coming from adjacent rooms. After moving to another hotel, the peace and quiet in the rooms was fantastic and a peaceful holiday was then had. The manager Sergio, did his best to move us to another room but the hotel was full, so this couldn’t happen. Put it down to very poor quality of construction and associated soundproofing. Absolutely nothing to do with the staff - again they were fantastic. Also forgot to mention that I got an electric shock from the kettle, which the hotel changed immediately. Some people return here year after year, unfortunately due to lack of sleep due to noise, we won’t be,"
