"Some real positives but a few significant negatives.
First impressions not great really, no warm welcome or welcome drink, just a run through of costs such as tourist tax (fair enough), safe in room 40 Euro's, Aircon 168 Euro's per room, As we had two rooms, aircon would have come in at 336 Euro's for the 2 weeks, seems excessive to me. The real additional cost that I struggled with was the sunbeds and brolly on the hotel's beach, 20 Euro's for the day. As a family of four, it would cost 560 Euro's over the two weeks (four beds, two brollies). There are two bottles of water included in the price (small bottles)! Nearly 1000 Euro's in 'extras' that people considering this hotel should certainly be aware of. As a result of the beach sunbed charge, the pool area was packed and anyone at the beach tended to opt for towels on the beach rather than the sunbeds. So pool area packed, people on towels on the beach and a load of fancy, mostly unoccupied sunbeds, daft. The Coralli felt like a bit of a money-making machine, we never felt massively welcome really, most of the Greek staff seemed to have an apathy about them, with Far East staff the most pleasant, The restaurant food was very good to be fair but expensive. There again, Pefkos in general was very expensive we found. Having holidayed in Corfu in recent years, we were shocked at the difference. There are a couple of small supermarkets either side of the Coralli, again these were expensive. 11 Euro's for a punnet of strawberries for example, no idea how they can charge that.
We had superior rooms across the road, they had clearly been recently refurbished and were excellent. It's a mixed bag in terms of room options so some careful research is needed to avoid disappointment.
For anyone into snorkeling, or willing to give it a go, there are a few really good areas to explore, in front of, and either side of the hotel beach. Beach shoes essential as it's very rocky/pebbly all along the coast
WiFi only available at reception and in the pool/restaurant area (not in rooms across the road)
The Coralli is one of a few hotels in between Pefkos and Lardos. Pefkos is a 10min walk which we enjoyed on an evening. Unfortunately we found the restaurants in Pefkos to lack character although food was a good standard. Very little Greek music or dancing unless you booked into a weekly theme night somewhere.
All in all we had a really good holiday but the expensive nature and lack of character of Pefkos in general will mean we won't return to Pefkos or the Coralli"
