"Honestly cannot understand the positive reviews left on here - our experience at this place was awful, and any negative review I’ve tired to leave on any platform has been removed - the Facebook group especially deletes any criticism. We went in October 2025 and it was such an awful let down all round.
Below is the copy of the complaint I wrote to EasyJet as the hotel didn’t want to know while we were there or when our holiday was finished - we got £150 from EasyJet which is an absolute joke
On arrival at the hotel we had a short wait to check in and then were told that we needed to wait off to one side for a colleague to help with the bags. It wasn’t explained to us that we were in another part of the hotel that was some distance away. After around a five minute wait we checked with Reception that we definitely needed to wait for a colleague as we hadn’t seen anyone, to which they responded we needed to wait. After around ten minutes one member of hotel staff arrived and instead of helping us, disappeared with two other guests. We had to ask again for the reason we were waiting, finally the colleague returned and we had to take our luggage to a buggy, and saw where we would be staying some distance away. On arriving into the Annexe block we noticed that the lobby was dirty and furniture very run down. It was only at this point that we were notified that we were staying on the third floor of this block (each floor was two flights of stairs) and that the lift was broken.
Issues with the room we were originally allocated included:
Stained curtains in the room
Ripped nets that also had burn marks on them (pictured)
‘Furniture’ that was completely insufficient to store belonging, one metal framed ‘desk’ – where metal was completely rusted and corroded (pictured)
Stains on bedside ‘table’ – again this was just one small rusted frame with a top on (pictured)
Dirty and dusty floors, and dust and hair and detritus all around the furniture and under the bed (pictured)
Dirty flooring on balcony
Balcony furniture consisted of two awful chairs that were ripped to shreds (pictured)
Tiny bathroom with loose drain cover in the floor and cracked sink
Stained bedsheets, hair in bed and mould marks on sheets (pictured)
Lift to this block was completely out of service and we were not offered help to drag our suitcases up several flights of stairs
Corridors were dirty and walls marked and scuffed
Furniture in the ‘lobby’ of this area was marked and torn
I told my partner not to unpack our belongings as there was no way we could stay in that room and that I would go and try to politely speak to reception to see if there was anything they could do to resolve the matter. I approached reception and politely explained there were several issues with the room and that we really would need to be moved please. Without asking what the issues were the Receptionist immediately replied we are very busy and lots of rooms are booked. I said I appreciated that but there was absolutely no way we could stay in the room allocated to us. She said leave me your mobile number and someone will try to speak to you tomorrow, I said I’m not comfortable doing that thank you.
She asked what the issues with the room were and I went through my points above and also said I had taken lots of photos on my phone. Her response was to pretend she had no idea what I was talking about. I said I will show you the photos and the room is completely unacceptable or please come with me to the room and see for yourself. I said I’d like you to log all of the above issues that I’ve just explained and she said she would – I do not believe she did even when I went through them all again. I said we cannot stay in that room. She again said I think we are busy here, leave your number and someone maybe will call you. I again said I’m not prepared to do so, please could I speak to someone about a room change. She said why don’t you unpack and leave your number and maybe someone will call you tomorrow. I said no thank you, I’m not prepared to unpack given the above, and asked if she thought the above list of issues was acceptable – she again pretended not to know what I was talking about and I said I’d like you to log all of my issues with the room, she said she would – I do not believe she did. Again she tried to get rid of me by saying we are very busy here you need to unpack and leave your number. I said again, I don’t mind waiting to speak to someone, but I do need to speak to someone regarding a room change as we absolutely cannot stay in the room you have provided. I was polite and patient throughout and again indicated I’d like to speak to someone about a room change if she was unable to help and said I appreciated it might not be her decision. She proceeded to call over a colleague who had also been on reception and half explained our situation to him not very politely. He proceeded to ask what the problem was and I ran through our list again, asking that all of these problems be logged for us – they were not. He also said to try again tomorrow but no promises – I said I wasn’t prepared to do so and who could I speak to about the matter please. After a short wait another colleague who was very helpful came round the desk and spoke to me explaining they could show me another room if we wanted to move. I said thank you, that I was appreciative to her and her colleagues and went to see the room – it was a bit better than the one we had originally been allocated so I accepted the room, having been told we were lucky they were agreeing to move us.
The room we were then given was better than the room originally allocated, but given how utterly low the standard of that room was, that wasn’t saying much. We accepted the room as we felt we had to, but still had issues throughout the week. I had asked for them to be logged, but again don’t think they were. Overall the standard of the room was really below par, even if this had been the first room we’d been given I would have been writing here. I think the EasyJet holiday listings for this hotel is absolutely far removed from the reality of what we received, even after being moved. I was told by the hotel to write to you not them. The photographs and descriptions that we booked our holiday based on are really not what we ended up with and I am seeking a refund on this basis. In addition to the complaints about our original room, issues pertaining to the other room we were offered included:
Every single piece of furniture was dented, broken, split, damaged, stained and split – and not just normal wear and tear, dangerous damage that you could catch yourself or your belongings on and just gave a really horrible feel to the room (pictured)
The doorway into the bathroom from the bedroom was warped, damaged, dirty and letting in a steady stream of insects (pictured)
Dangerous bundles of electricals and plugs were hanging down under the broken desk furniture (pictured)
Our fridge was filled with ants (pictured)
The area around the sink with covered with black mould / ingrained filth (pictured)
The shower area was the same as the above, with cracks too (pictured)
There were large stained and dirty areas of the bathroom wall tiles where previous appliances possibly had been glued to the wall and been removed, leaving large unsightly yellow patches (pictured)
The shower drain did not function properly or effectively and was not clean
There was a huge dirty, dusty vent in the bathroom wall that was not clean (pictured)
The above also lead to a very odd huge corridor of vents, whereby everything from every room could be heard, causing noise disturbance
If the apartments above or either side were showering, there was often very little hot water available
The floors were never swept or mopped our entire stay, and were quite grubby to begin with
It was not an option to have towels changed each day even on request
The sheets were not changed our entire stay and were ill-fitting
The bedding and under sheets were damaged and stained
We had a very friendly and nice cleaner allocated to our block, and I do not believe the above was a reflection on her as an individual, she did all she could within a remit. She was clearly allocated very little time per room and a huge number of rooms and operating on hotel instructions. There’s also only so much you can do if the furniture and fixtures themselves are as they were.
Other areas where the hotel fell below proper performance standards were sheer number of broken sunbeds (both old and new styles) that were dangerous and even when broken just left out on the beach and around pool areas, quality of food was not good – not properly hot, very basic choices, very poor choices for vegetarian guests and not a good experience, we also had similar quality related comments about drinks and being very watered down, as well as additional charges for coffees and cocktails. On more than one occasion at the drinks station at the water park area the plastic glasses put out for guests were not clean and just stacked with sand and dirt in them. None of the reusable items felt very clean. The overall standard of all facilities was much lower than we expected, this extends to dirty areas full of cables next to the small ‘spa’ pool area, broken walkway slats along the beach, it was a struggle to find redeeming features and it very much fell below reasonable standards.
The quality of so many aspects of the trip was substandard and unreasonable to expect your customers to just put up with. The description and photographs on your website are really misleading in terms of the reality of the accommodation and the place overall."
