"I stayed at the hotel from April 11th to April 16th 2026 and overall had a really nice experience, though there are a few areas that could be improved.
We didn't originally book this hotel. However a week before we were due to arrive, we found out the hotel we had booked was going to be delayed opening. So the holiday company suggested Apollo Blue for us.
The room itself was lovely, with very comfortable beds and a balcony which was a nice bonus. The bathroom had a full four-piece suite, which was great, although the shower was quite small and felt like it could do with modernising. It was also a nice touch that snacks were left in the room on arrival. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout the stay and kept everything spotless.
We stayed in room 229, which is above the dining area. Because of this, there was some noise particularly in the bathroom where we could hear music, and during meal times we could hear chairs being moved. It wasn’t unbearable, but definitely noticeable.
The hotel overall was very clean and well-maintained, which made a great impression
The location is right on the beach, which is a big plus. However, there were no sun loungers provided on the beach itself, and unfortunately the beach was quite dirty during our stay, with noticeable litter and even a medicine syringe
The surrounding area also felt quite run down. There were a number of abandoned buildings, quite a bit of rubbish and graffiti too. Many shops were shut, likely because it was early in the season which made the area feel a bit quiet and neglected.
Food was a bit mixed. Breakfast was okay, but I would have liked to see more fruit options. Dinner was generally decent the food was always hot, there was plenty of choice, and it was well stocked. However, a lot of it was quite bland in flavour. The desserts also felt quite repetitive, with many of them being mousse-based.
We didn’t try the taverna at lunch as it looked like a smaller version of the dinner buffet. However, towards the end of our stay we discovered that we could use the snack bar at the sister hotel next door, which was a highlight. The pizza, chips, crepes, and kebabs there were all really good and definitely worth trying.
The pool area was fantastic. Even in mid-April, it was warm enough to swim comfortably and there were always plenty of sun loungers available so no need to rush out early to reserve one.
Staff were friendly when we interacted with them, but service felt quite minimal. At no point were we asked how our stay was going and interactions were mostly limited to being shown to a table or having drinks taken. It gave the impression of being left alone rather than looked after.
One downside was that the air conditioning in the room didn’t work, so we had to sleep with the balcony door open every night, which wasn't ideal.
On a positive note, the cocktails at the pool bar were excellent and definitely a highlight.
It cost €28 for a taxi into Rhodes Old Town, which is worth factoring in if you plan to visit.
Overall, it was a really nice stay, but I don’t feel that it quite meets the standard of a five-star hotel as advertised. Also worth noting on checkout there is a €15 per night fee, which may come as a surprise if you’re not expecting it."
