Kriti Beach

"There are hotels where everything is perfectly fine, yet nothing particularly stands out to make you remember them for long. Kriti Beach Hotel, however, has its own distinctive character and a special atmosphere, defined by the warmth, genuine interest and attentive care shown by the reception staff towards every guest who arrives. Hospitality is evident at every turn — whether it is helping guests find the perfect table for breakfast or dinner, or taking the time to have a friendly chat with those staying at the hotel. Many guests are not here for the first time but have returned because they enjoyed their previous stay so much. The atmosphere is cosy, everything is well maintained, and the service is attentive without ever being intrusive. Everything runs just as it should — on time, smoothly and without any stress or rush. We loved everything about our stay here, from the varied and delicious food to a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast and a glass of champagne on Sunday mornings. Twice a week, the restaurant hosts live music evenings featuring popular international hits, as well as a Greek night with traditional songs and dancing. At this hotel, high standards are reflected not only in the quality of the rooms and the care taken to maintain them. The real hallmark of the hotel is its guest-oriented staff, who clearly love what they do and approach every guest’s request with genuine interest and a sincere desire to help. For example, when I reported a problem with the bathroom door hinges, they were repaired within just half an hour. Reservations Manager, Mrs Manuela Kirstein and the hotel’s Guest Relations Manager, Chrissa Balasi, deserve special recognition for the outstanding care they show their guests. This was our third stay at a hotel belonging to the OK hotel group — our previous two visits were to another hotel just along the same street — and Chrissa looks after both hotels, it was a genuine pleasure to see her again. She is wonderful and truly a credit to the hotel! We stayed in one of the finest rooms, with a breathtaking view that could be enjoyed not only from the balcony but also from inside the room itself. For an entire week, we felt genuinely happy and content. The beach is just across the street, and the sun loungers and parasols belong to the hotel. The service there is equally prompt and excellent, with refreshing drinks and snacks brought straight to your sun lounger. For a whole week in September, we felt as though we were in a little paradise. In the evenings, we immersed ourselves in the wonderful Greek atmosphere of Rethymno, with its Venetian charm. It was like a fairytale. And when you experience something so special, you wish the fairytale would never end, but could go on and on.
