We arrived in the early hours and our transfer was seamless. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff. There was no standing around at reception; instead, we were invited to sit down and enjoy a much-appreciated welcome drink.
Marina helped us with the check-in process and explained everything clearly. Check-in is completed through the app, which also provides all your holiday information, guides, and notifications throughout your stay. Once we were checked in, we were given our room number and key. Wilson, who was so lovely, took us to our room in a golf buggy, which we really appreciated after travelling. He showed us around the room and explained how everything worked, including the air conditioning.
After a much-needed sleep, we had breakfast in the main restaurant where there was a great selection of food, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
I needed some information and went to reception where we met the lovely Magda. From the moment we met her until the day we left, she treated us like family. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Alongside her was the lovely Michales, who always made us feel that any request was never an inconvenience. A special mention also goes to Despina on reception who greeted us every day with such kindness and always checked that we were okay.
There were two main pool areas, although we only used the main pool. The sunbeds were amazing and there was never any need to rush out and reserve one — there were always plenty available. The beach bar was fantastic, serving drinks from 10am until 11pm. We enjoyed lunch there most days as there was a great choice of food, served quickly and always of excellent quality.
Each evening the main restaurant hosted themed nights with plenty of variety. I particularly liked the different food stations. The gentleman responsible for ensuring the main stations were always replenished (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) was fantastic — always smiling and checking whether we needed anything.
We also booked the à la carte restaurant through the app. The Ocean was absolutely amazing from start to finish and was the perfect way to round off our holiday. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
One evening we also ate with friends we met at the Blu Bar, which I believe is a newer addition. It was fantastic — we shared the T-bone steak and it was amazing, while the starters were equally impressive.
We thought the entertainment was just right — enjoyable without being overwhelming.
We stayed in Comfort Room 164 which was clean, comfortable and well laid out. Storage could have been a little better, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The shower was fantastic, the toiletries were good quality, and the hairdryer was surprisingly good too.
The shop on site was actually cheaper than the local shops and had a good range of items.
The pool itself was beautiful with lovely little islands and bean bags to relax on, as well as a great whirlpool. It did feel a little cool at first, but once in, it was very refreshing.
We had a very late flight, we opted for to check out and use the option to book the showers after a day at the pool was perfect nd easy to use.
How do I sum up Stella Blue? An amazing hotel made truly special by the incredible staff who make you feel like family. We can’t wait to return and visit our special Stella Blue family again — they really are a huge asset to the hotel.
