Pelagos Suites Hotel and Spa

"We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Pelagos Suites Hotel & Spa, and overall, we couldn’t have asked for much more. From the moment we arrived, the resort had a really premium feel to it, with beautifully maintained grounds, excellent facilities and, most importantly, genuinely lovely staff who made the whole experience so enjoyable. One of the things that really stood out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and the service really contributed to the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. We particularly appreciated how easy everything was made for us, including arranging bike hire, car hire and transfers. Everything was straightforward and convenient, which made exploring the island so much easier. We were also pleasantly surprised by the golf cart service. Being taken on a little excursion around the resort to our room on arrival was a lovely touch and made the whole experience feel that bit more special. The resort itself is exceptionally well maintained. Everywhere you look, the facilities are in fantastic condition, and the attention to detail is genuinely impressive. Even the white-painted walls and surfaces were spotless, without the usual scuff marks and signs of wear that you often find in busy hotels. The pools were great, with plenty of space to relax, and the spa was also in really good condition, with everything feeling clean, modern and well looked after. One of our favourite things about the hotel was just how quiet and secluded it felt. Despite having plenty of facilities and restaurants, the resort never felt particularly hectic or overcrowded. The private beach was another highlight. It was beautifully secluded, and the sunbeds and sofa-style loungers were incredibly comfortable, making it a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The whole beach area felt peaceful and was a real highlight of the stay. There is also a really generous amount included in the holiday, which makes the experience even better. The snack buffet running from 11:30 until 17:00 was particularly useful, as was the crepe and waffle bar, open from 11:00 until 17:00. Having these options available throughout the day was a brilliant addition and meant there was always something to enjoy without having to go out of your way. The buffet restaurant was also very good, with a particularly nice selection of fresh salads and plenty of other well-prepared food. There was a good variety, and the quality was consistently enjoyable. The à la carte restaurants were another positive. The Greek restaurant felt genuinely authentic, with lovely food and a really nice atmosphere. The Italian restaurant also felt authentic, and the view from it made the experience even better. Both were worth visiting and offered something different from the main buffet. The restaurants’ staff deserve another mention because they were incredibly nice, attentive and understanding. There were, however, a couple of small things that occasionally took away from the atmosphere during meals. At times, staff had a tendency to slam cutlery into drawers and plates onto surfaces, which could be quite loud and interrupted what would otherwise have been a lovely, relaxed dining experience. It wasn’t a major issue, but a little more care with noise levels would make a difference. The shops within the resort were also a nice touch. There is a shop with a good selection of sweets, snacks, food and pool inflatables, which was really convenient, as well as a clothing shop centrally located within the resort. It was nice to have these options available without needing to leave the hotel. In terms of entertainment, there were some highlights, particularly the male dancers on Monday evening, who were genuinely fantastic and probably the best entertainment we saw during our stay. Unfortunately, the entertainment overall was a little underwhelming outside of this. Similarly, the themed restaurant evenings could have been more distinctive. We found them quite limited, and in practice, there wasn’t a huge difference between the themed nights and the usual evenings. A little more effort to make these nights feel special would definitely improve the experience. The one other area that could be improved is the spa pool. Although the spa itself was in excellent condition, the pool area was considerably louder than we expected. There didn’t seem to be a particularly strong emphasis on keeping noise down, and without a dedicated adults-only area or reminders about noise levels, it wasn’t always the peaceful spa experience you might hope for. It would be lovely to have a genuinely quiet area where guests can properly unwind. That said, these are relatively small criticisms in what was otherwise an excellent holiday. The quality of the facilities, the cleanliness, the food, the private beach, the convenience of everything being available on site and, above all, the incredible staff made this a really memorable stay. Pelagos Suites has a lovely balance of luxury, comfort and relaxation. The whole resort feels premium without being overly formal, and there is so much included that you really can spend your entire holiday enjoying the facilities without needing to worry about much else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. A fantastic resort with wonderful staff, beautiful facilities and so much to offer. Highly recommended!"

"When we arrived at the hotel the first impression was very good we received a warm welcome. The hotel is quite large and spacious and we were grateful for the buggy ride to our room. We had booked a deluxe suite and the room was very spacious with a large bed and separate seating area. The only downside was that we were at the back of the hotel and the view from our balcony was over an unused field that had various bits of rubbish dumped there. It was also next to the house that had the cockerels who did wake us at 5am every morning but we did get used to them. The hotel has three large pools (one adult only) and we always found sun loungers when we wanted one and the rule about not reserving before 9am seemed to work well. The pool bar was good with branded drinks but the cocktail list was a bit limited and our biggest disappointment was the wine as neither of us enjoyed the red or white wine and we are wine drinkers so that was a let down. The staff here worked very hard and were very good and a mention for Kitkat (that was the name she gave us!) who always had a smile and chat for us. We enjoyed the dining experience and always found something good to eat. We found the choice was very good and was always being replenished even when we ate late. Again the majority of the staff were excellent and mentions for Fanis, Mayo and Karina who always gave us great service with a smile. The Italian a la carte was very good. The location of the hotel is on the coast road and the beach is a very short walk away. It was quite windy when we were there so we went for a walk but didn't stay on the beach. There isn't much directly outside the hotel but Kos Town is around 25 minutes walk and is worth a visit. We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would definitely return to enjoy another relaxing break."

"We enjoyed our stay at Sentido Pelagos but were a bit underwhelmed overall. Our biggest issue was the dining in terms of both quality and environment. The main restaurant is adequate for breakfast, and this was always quite nice, but the set up is like a canteen rather than an enjoyable restaurant. The lunch and dinner options were never exceptional, just the same moderately appealing dishes with subtle variation. I would say that sums up the whole hotel, everything is ok, but not much goes beyond ok. We stayed in October when the restaurant, and to a lesser extent the whole hotel was clearly not designed to function in cooler, wetter weather. Large hotel reviews often include the criticism that the buffet food is cold. I usually disagree with an acceptance that you need to be reasonable in your expectations on this point, but I certainly found that some dishes at Pelagos were noticeably colder than they should have been. We were there for 10 nights, and the final five nights we chose to eat out for the evening meal because we were fed up! The Itallian A La Carte was pretty good. We didn't bother with the other one because the only things that appealed on the menu incurred an extra charge so we preferred to spend the money in an external restaurant. I would, however, say that the baklava was delicious, the best we have ever had and broadly the desserts were quite good. There were plenty of branded spirits included but the cocktail selection was an absolute disgrace. This is a 'Five Star' resort and you can't just order a traditional cocktail. There was a selection of about 5 premixed ones. There was also no dark rum included, and I was told this would be an extra charge. The complex is looking quite tired in places, although in fairness, this was the end of season. We stayed in a deluxe suite. Our room was spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. The room was a bit tatty, with various bits of damage, and the shower flooded through to the toilet floor for drainage, which didn’t leave a nice toilet area for several hours whilst it dried. Most of the staff were very good. The reception staff were a bit miserable, there was a glass topped table in our room that was not safe for our young children. We asked if they could remove it for our stay and they said no. We were not asked if we enjoyed our stay on check out which would have been a good opportunity to provide some of this feedback. The animation team were brilliant. Friendly and fun but never pushy. We walked to Kos Town several times. We had a double pushchair and broadly found this to be quite a safe and accessible journey. The cycle lanes look great, but they have seemingly been put there at the expense of a pedestrian pavement! The Lambi area on route to Kos Town had a few bars and shops, but overall looked a bit sorry for itself. We had a lovely holiday, and we booked this hotel because we really rated the Sentido in Corfu. We were just a bit underwhelmed by the whole experience. Not our best choice, but by no means a disaster."
