"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Relaxing, Luxurious Stay with Exceptional Service
We had a wonderful stay at Diamond Deluxe and would happily return. The attention to detail throughout the resort is outstanding, from the beautiful embroidery on the napkins, pillows and dressing gowns to the artwork displayed around the hotel and on the exterior walls. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and very well maintained.
An arrival a welcome drink is offered & you are transported to your room in a golf buggy. A ‘bar’ in your room offers a fridge, one complimentary bottle of water, red wine & prosecco & houses the espresso coffee machine. Unlike other 5 star hotels, the water is not replenished daily & costs around €3 from the onsite shop.
The cleanliness was exceptional. The public areas were spotless at all times, and it was clear how hard the staff work to keep the hotel looking pristine. Whether in the restaurants, around the pool and bar areas, or housekeeping, there were always plenty of staff on hand, all of whom were genuinely friendly, professional and happy to help. This is exactly the level of service you’d expect from a five-star hotel.
Breakfast is served à la carte, and there are two restaurants to choose from for dining in the evening. Peruzzi is upstairs with views over the sea & downstairs overlooking the pool is the Emerald. The quality of the food was excellent throughout our stay. The menu in Peruzzi doesn’t change but in the Emerald there are daily delicacy changes. If you’re half board expect 5 courses, plus an amuse - bouche & pre dessert. Don’t use the scales in your room 🤣 The only minor criticism is that the courses were sometimes served a little too quickly, which made meals feel slightly rushed. One thing to note is that anything purchased at the bar or shop goes onto to your room account for payment at the end of the week - caution not to rack up a bill. They do charge €4 euros for a small bucket of ice!
There was entertainment most evenings offering background music or a singer. This stops around 11.15pm & the bar remains open until 1am. These are very laid back evenings here & it was perfect for us.
We didn’t use the spa, however it appeared to offer everything you need for treatments. It’s here you change your beach/pool towels.
Our room was spacious, airy, immaculately clean and had excellent air conditioning. We stayed in Room 402, where the sun reached our swim-up terrace from around midday until the evening. The swim-up pool was a real highlight, with our own sunbeds leading directly into the water and a private patio with a table and chairs. We spent our mornings relaxing on the beach before returning to enjoy the afternoon sunshine on our terrace.
Wardrobe storage was great with ample hangers. The only comment would there wasn’t much space for swimwear or smaller clothing items, and a couple of hooks in the bathroom for hanging used towels would have been useful. A wooden drying rack is provided and can be placed outside, which helped with drying swimwear.
For guests not staying in a swim-up or private pool room, there were still plenty of comfortable sunbeds around the fabulous main pool, so it never felt overcrowded.
The beach is directly across the road and has waiter service, along with plenty of shaded sunbeds. While it was convenient and well serviced, it’s a pebbly beach rather than a sandy one, so it wasn’t our favourite part of the resort. Bring swim shoes!
The location is quiet & we like this. A bus to Kos Town costing just €2 or a taxi around €10, making it easy to explore.
We took a worthy trip to Zia to watch the sunset & have dinner - stunning little village in the mountains.
