"Please note:- before booking this hotel, please don't take any of the positive reviews into consideration written before October 2026. The hotel changed hands in October and bears no resemblance whatsoever to its past glory! We stayed in early June and arrived to be greeted by an empty reception desk, absolutely no one (staff) were around. If it had no been for a fellow guest phoning "the manager" ???? We would probably still be there. About 5 minutes later a woman arrived, no apologies, just asking for our passports, before going into the back room to have a very loud and animated conversation, leaving us, mouths open, for at least another 15 - 2O minutes, without explanation. When she returned, she told us our room number and that the key would be in the door, it wasn't, so we simply helped ourselves to it from the desk which was again deserted. We rarely saw anyone anywhere near the desk after that! There are no keys to the safe in the wardrobe, so we kept our valuables in a locked suitcase. Breakfast was basic and limited in supply. We stuck to bread, cheese and other baked. Items, not wishing to risk any of the cooked items as they looked totally unappetising and goodness only knows when they were cooked. Fruit was limited and not very fresh looking, Greek yogurt runny. All served in a very dated variety of receptacles. Think Faulty Towers then multiply it. They were no staff in attendance over breakfast to help with lack of food items or their replenishment. There is a "bar' of types outside, although we saw it open once. Ice cream fridge and bottle fridges were empty and unplugged. It would appear like us, other guests deserted the hotel during the day and evenings, as the grounds and communal areas were always empty. It was, for us, a base to sleep in the end as it offered nothing else. It was lifeless and soulless, not even a little background music to help lift the mood. Guests were an inconvenience to the manager, who we were told did everything, except the cleaning????? The hotel decor is dated, tatty and again depressing. The saving grace ......??? The two cleaners who were wonderful. They kept our, past it's sell by date room, spotless, with clean towels whenwver needed. They worked tirelessly, unlike the manager. Apart from them we never saw any other staff. It was by far the strangest hotel we have ever stayed at and not exactly cheap! I think TUI should seriously revise using them in the future. Beware."

"Having been a regular visitor to Melidron - twice a year for many, many years, sadly I will not be rebooking. The change of owners have completely changed the offerings of this hotel. The friendliest of hotels in the past - this has completely gone. It is no longer family run, now owned by a company and this is obvious from arrival. The “manager” Eva is seriously under qualified to be running this hotel. She attempts to do her best but her English is limited and any problems can not be resolved without her consulting with her Manager who is a phone call away and never at the hotel. Breakfast is very basic and runs out very quickly. The hot food is never hot as the cabinet doesn’t work. There is no toaster and the bread is rarely fresh. During my stay the bar was not open as they had no bar staff. This resulted in myself and other guests going elsewhere during the day, leaving an empty pool area. Great if you didn’t want a drink or snack as it meant plenty of empty sunloungers round the pool (which was cleaned every morning by the chef!!) but hardly what people want at this hotel. There was only ever a note on reception with Eva’s phone number and if she was there, she was usually to be found sitting outside smoking - as was another member of the staff. I have no idea how late check ins managed! The rooms are very tired with the plaster falling off. Bathrooms also really do need updating. The shutters do not stay back resulting in them flapping about when it’s windy. (Fortunately not often)! Whilst the bedding and room towels were always spotlessly clean and well laundered, what pool towels were provided were showing signs of age and wear so I chose not to use them. The only plus point in my opinion is the two lovely cleaning ladies Aspersia and Kiki who have been there years and continue to offer the best of housekeeping standards. They take pride in their work and it is apparent to all the guests. They do an amazing job. There are many nationalities now visiting Melidron as the booking options have changed over the years but pretty much everyone was disappointed with the standards now on offer. I’m sorry if this review is lengthy but Melidron is nowhere near the standards of a Greek 3 star hotel anymore."

"Dated, tired hotel. Used to be lovely till it was sold. Manager has no idea how to run a hotel. She sat smoking in reception when you could find her Pool bar never open even when pool area was busy, but left a message on the bar to say you can’t have your own food or drinks there (in 30° heat)! Manager went in to get her own drinks though. We were told halfway through our holiday we had to move rooms. We were shouted at, a note stuck on our door, our belongings moved in our room and a sofa bed made up for new guests whilst we were out (!) and then she banged on our door!! Tui helped and she screamed at them too. She also lied and said she’d told us we had to move halfway through when she checked us in. She absolutely didn’t, as I’d have been onto Tui right then and there! The room she wanted us to move to was mouldy and had a leak. Breakfast was abysmal. No dishes collected - guests kindly stacking them on the bar to the point they were almost toppling over. No safe key - apparently no one had ever asked for one before?! As if! Garden areas were unkempt (they used to be so lovely). Bird poo on loungers not cleaned off. The only good thing is the cleaner who is a lovely lady who works hard, always with a smile on her face. A lot of unhappy guests at the hotel. Such a shame it’s gone downhill like this. Things need addressing asap or it won’t be open for long. Needless to say we won’t be going back."
