"I am very upset with my stay and feel so blindsided by all of the reviews- I truly don’t get it. My rating dropped to 3 stars as soon as we completed check in and then it just got worse from there.
Let me start with the shuttle service. It SUCKS compared to other hotels. I remember we did another hotel years ago and it was very frequent (every 15-20ish minutes). This is not the case with Ki Space and do not take that lightly! If you do not plan accordingly before the trip, you will run into issues. For those saying Ki Space is close to the hotel, no it is not! It takes like 15-20 minutes to get to the parks, and if you miss the bus, good luck because it won’t come for another 40-50 minutes and that’s IF they’re not on break. ESPECIALLY with the Magic Shuttle, you will run into issues when you’re coming from and to the airport, especially if you’re coming in early or late or during their break time. It’s HORRIBLE! We were stranded at the bus stop near Disneyland Paris for what would have been OVER and hour, so we just gave up and took an Uber. That was a MESS! For €24 per person, that was not worth it.
Next is check-in. We checked in and the lady said our room number out loud- something you should not do regardless due to safety reasons. I also don’t like the way you open the door. You have to use a QR code from your phone to open the door. This is beyond frustrating because sometimes you’re sitting there for minutes trying to get it to scan. I also think it is very unsafe as someone can easily break into the room, especially since there are no locks on the other side of the door like most hotels have. Why can’t you just have room keys?? So much easier!
Next is the WiFi. It is TERRIBLE! I ended up turning data roaming on in my phone’s settings because I got sick of the WiFi not working. It’s bad when the theme park’s WiFi is better than your hotel’s WiFi.
The shower was also a huge disappointment! It did not get hot at all and so we had to take lukewarm/cool showers and did not have time to fix it since we had to go to the parks which are so far away. During our 2nd time showering, I had nice, hot water, so I was happy that it was finally warm! However, when my husband went in, it turned to lukewarm/cool again! This should not happen, especially at a “luxurious” hotel like Ki Space that is known for their spa and relaxation.
The breakfast was very uneventful. Yes, the pastries are good, but that’s really it. I did not care for the eggs or the other food they had. I wish they had regular, plain hashbrowns/potatoes, especially since there’s a lot of kids who are picky eaters. My husband also mentioned that the bacon was fatty, especially compared to other good bacon we’ve had on the trip. For the amount we paid to have breakfast included in our package, it was a big let down. The price does not match the food quality served! Do not get breakfast! You’re honestly better off going to the parks or somewhere else.
And what’s with the anti-cuddle beds?! We had 2 twin beds pushed together and they kept sliding away from each other creating bigger and bigger gaps, so sleeping was not the best which was so disappointing since we came on this trip to rest and have fun, not deal with all these issues where most of them could have been easily prevented.
We tried the pool, and what a NIGHTMARE! First of all, once again, you need to have those QR codes to get into the pool, and mine didn’t work, so my husband had to let me in just to get through. Once we got in, we were really disappointed to find no jacuzzi. The pool area is basically a large heated pool with jets on the end. There was no place (none we saw at least) where there was hot water (like a jacuzzi). Also, the lockers say that they don’t lock. Yes, the LOCKers have a sign saying they don’t lock! Huh??
Lastly, our privacy was invaded! We had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Yet, while we were changing and naked (out of all times), we heard 3-4 knocks and the door opening while saying “housekeeping!”! They opened the door without our consent WITH the Do Not Disturb sign ON! What is the point of that sign if you are not going to follow it? Makes me wonder what other times they came in while we were gone!
Compared to what we experienced at our previous hotel years ago and what we could’ve gotten there and at other hotels, we truly feel like we got ripped off. This place is NOT worth it. Very far from the parks, the shuttle system is very inconvenient (at least at this time while it still runs at 40-50 mins perhaps since it’s not as popular of a hotel yet), the QR codes were a big inconvenience, the water temperature was frustrating, and the wifi was pretty much nonexistent. What’s even worse- our privacy was invaded! We will not be back. To the one review that said all style and no substance: I couldn’t agree more! Such a disappointment for our birthday trip."
