"Just finished a 7 night holiday here.
As soon as we arrived, we were offered late dinner, we were checked in quickly, and then taken to our room with our suitcases.
The staff are really friendly and all work incredibly hard! The bar staff are always on the go, morning, noon and night. The restaurant staff keep the tables and floors clean, collecting plates and delivering drinks.
The entertainment team provide aqua aerobics, zumba, kids foam parties and dancing during the day. Evening entertainment consists of mini disco and then a performing act afterwards.
The pool area is large, relaxing and no trouble finding a sun lounger. Towel cards and service is great. The head lifeguard is lovely and makes you feel welcome. Only downside to the pool area is being asked if you want to book a massage or excursion, however if you politely decline, the workers will say thank you and move on.
Food in the main restaurant became fairly predictable most days. A lot of items seemed to be in some kind of tomato sauce, or a casserole of some sort. BBQ'd meats were really good and always plenty of fresh salad and vegetables. There could be a better variety of breakfast items and more fresh fruit, as every morning there was only orange, grapefruit or melon. The queues for eggs and omelettes was always really long, but they were always cooked perfectly.
We used 2 of the A la Carte restaurants. The Italian and the Asian. Both excellent service and plenty to choose from the menus.
Beach is beautiful and calm with plenty of loungers, wind breakers, plus the bar area with tables and chairs under the shade. Lunch service is usually served here.
Our room was a bit dated and rough around the edges, but we were hardly in it and only there to sleep, shower and change. Our housekeeper George was amazing. He cleaned our room and restocked supplies every single day apart from one when we didn't really need it doing. He was always smiley, friendly and grateful when we tipped him.
The only main issue we had was using the foreign exchange machine in the hotel. We put our money in and it didn't come back out. Ramy from the reception took my husband to the bank in town to try to get the problem sorted, but we are waiting for confirmation. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to try to resolve this for us.
Overall, we had a relaxing stay and felt welcome and safe. Would visit again.
**Tips for travellers**
Visas - as soon as you arrive at Hurghada airport, there are 3 or 4 kiosks on the right hand side where the visas cost 30 US Dollars per person. Have this ready in cash to pay. DO NOT go to the people who are shouting "Easyjet, TUI, visa, visa" They are dressed in fake airline uniforms and will charge you extra. If your airline didn't provide a landing card, the airport staff will gove you these to fill out before you go through the passport control. Bring a pen.
Currency - Use the foreign exchange at the airport, or withdraw from ATM into egyptian pounds. Tip workers in egyptian pounds.
Shops - There are some shops on site. One thatvsells souveiners, sweets and some toiletry essentials. The other sells pretty much the same, plus drinks, snacks, ice creams, cigarettes, tobacco. They take card or cash.
Loungers and Towels -. Sun loungers can't be 'reserved', so guests aren't allowed to dump their stuff first thing in the morning and then leave. Towel cards are given for each guest so no need to pack one. You can get towels from the pool and the beach."
