The bars and restaurant offered excellent service, and the staff were always friendly and attentive. We truly enjoyed every moment of our holiday and would definitely return to this hotel."

"Reception was good when we got there 2am after our delayed flight. Room was nice but looked into a refuse are of hotel opposite and balcony in shade 90% of time. Lifts kept breaking down of which only 2 of them. Lots of steps to get to main pool area and beach. Food was terrible and ate out 5 of 7 nights. Only positive about hotel was a nice little cove for swimming. Won't be back."

"We stayed at the Aluasoul from the 19th-23rd of October. The trip advisor rating I have given is 4 stars as although it deserves its 4* hotel rating it could be better and we have stayed at other 4* hotels that are. On arrival we were offered a drink and were told our room was not ready but to check back in a hour. We asked for somewhere to change and were directed to the spa, a large room with a shower, sink and a toilet in the room next door. The hotel had given us a wristbands for all inclusive when we checked in and we were able to get a drink before returning to reception. As promised our room was ready in an hour and we were very pleased to be on the 4th floor with a sea view room. The room was clean, bright and smelt nice. The balcony was a suitable size with a stunning view. The open bathroom wasn’t ideal as both the toilet and shower have frosted glass, not the most private for those who prefer to go to the toilet without anyone being able to see you! The water is salty in the area and not the fault of the hotel. This is manageable by buying a bottle of water and rising your hair after the shower the reduce salt residue. I actually found the salty water to soften my skin. The main pool area was a good size with plenty of sun-beds. The pool was freezing. There does seem to be the sun-bed warriors who ignore the closed pool barrier and no reserving sun-bed rule, climbing over the barrier to secure the prime spots. I can imagine this must be awful in the height of summer. The pool doesn’t open until 10am which if you are having a pool day then you have to wait around for the pool to open. A previous hotel we stayed at would allow guests to place towels down before 9am but you had to be on them or they would be removed. Unfortunately we saw no evidence of the staff upholding their rules and would allow guest to reserve beds before the time they have stated. ‘What you allow will continue’ As it was coming to the end of the season there were signs that the hotel was about to shut down. The daily activities became less noticeable as time went on with only two water aerobics session on the first two days of our holiday and no sign of paella or sangria making, which I had been looking forward to. Also we did notice some of the cushions were mouldy, especially in the solarium. Only two restaurants were open, the main buffet and the à la carte restaurant, Marea. We were not informed of the pool bar being closed for snacks on arrival and waited until the permitted 3pm to get some lunch only to find that they were no longer serving food and we needed to go to the main buffet, which unfortunately closes at 3pm meaning we had no lunch on that day. The food in Marea was of a very high standard, although a little cold. The food in the main buffet was good enough. We always found something to eat. It was a little bit repetitive and could have been a bit hotter. The was a great selection of salads and vegetarian food. However, there were some fruit flies around this area and on some of the food. The drinks were mostly good. My husband was very impressed to have San Miguel on tap and there were a good selection of spirits available on AI. The cocktails were very sugary and from a premixed bottle. I tried a few but found them to be too sweet for me. Shame the mojitos were not on the AI. We visited the spa facilities on two occasion during our stay. On the first the water was murky and had some unpleasant things floating around so we only used the steam room and the sauna. The second time we went there were lots of drain flies in the room so left and didn’t attempt to go again. The staff in all the areas were welcoming and friendly, especially Pedro who always had us smiling. It is clear they all work incredibly hard to make guests feel welcome and happy. Our room wasn’t cleaned everyday, which meant that we didn’t get clean towels daily or the replenishment of water. We just phoned reception who had a member of staff bring us some clean towels. On a separate occasion we needed an iron and again rang reception and had an iron and ironing board bought to our room. The safe is free and easy to use. There is lots of storage space, plug sockets next to the bed and a few English channels on the television. The area is clean and well maintained. The hotel is very well situated with the port a 10 minute walk away and Cala D’or a 30 minute walk with lots of restaurants, shops and bars. The market is on in Cala D’or on a Sunday evening and Cala Egos on Thursday evening. Would we return…. Yes, but maybe in September when the season is still going strong enough to have all the facilities available. For the island this is a 4* hotel, but as stated throughout this review there are some areas of improvement. This could be due to shutting the resort down and a big clean being completed before they open for the new season next year. I feel the same experience and treatment should be offered to every guest, whether they are the first guest to arrive or the last."
