We also enjoyed the 2nd floor pool area and the very good bar/restaurant Scarlett, As many guests have commented the guest rooms (and bathrooms) are small and somewhat dated. Our room was on the side street and we didn't have any noise problems. Very convenient location about 2 blocks from the main square with city hall. From there it's a fairly straight route down to the river,"

"We look for a hotel which is: centrally located near a variety of restaurants in a safe area is highly rated by other travelers This hotel fulfilled all those criteria and more. An ample breakfast was included, service was welcoming and a special shout out to the extremely patient and helpful concierges, Rui and Jorge, for all their assistance. The metro is very close by, as is one of the main train stations. As a bonus, the hotel interior is over the top beautiful and the rooms have been recently renovated. More storage space would be appreciated. Having said all that, we will be candid about a few details which need to be told, if we are totally honest. Don't expect much from the pool. It is postage stamp size. For a five star hotel which this is, we would expect better towels. They were frayed, threadbare, rough and stained on one occasion. Our final point is something to be aware of, but we don't know what the hotel can do about it. The restaurants nearby are terrific and numerous. Unfortunately, the noise and revelry from these establishments is unacceptably loud at all hours of the night on a random basis. Perhaps this is why the hotel provides a kit which includes ear plugs. Some nights were fine, but others were very noisy. Perhaps it would be a good idea to contact the hotel to find out which rooms are quieter before making reservations."
