"We stayed July 25th to August 2nd. The resort remains beautiful as we remember from the first time we stayed many years ago. The memories we had is what prompted me to book there again this year. What ruined it for us this year to the point where our kids said they do not want to book here again when we return to Paris, was how other guests behaved & the response from security.
We were out all day, everyday for our visit except for July 31st as we wanted a day to just enjoy the resort. We did notice during our stay how rowdy the teens who were staying there. The quiet resort we remember seemed overcrowding with the teens & family members who walked as groups most of the time we saw them. Whenever we went to the market, it was hard to even get in line to pay as the teens were all over, sometimes not even lining up to take their turns. One time, one teen was playing with all the coffee cups & I told him to stop touching everything [for hygienic reasons]; he then gave me an attitude & told me he was in line when he had no merchandise on hand. That was just the tip of the iceberg.
On July 31st, we planned to swim, enjoy the supposed serenity of the resort. We started at the outdoor pool in the afternoon. The pool was barely heated. There was just us, a father & 2 children, & 3 teens [Asians] playing ball in the pool. When it got colder, we decided to check out the indoor pool. This is where the trouble started. The huge, heated pool was crowded with a group of teens [middle eastern] so we decided to use one of the spas instead. Just a few minutes after we settled into the spa, one of the teens in the pool went to the edge of the pool just as one of the security guys came in. The teen gestured about diving backwards into the pool & the security seemed to tell him it's not allowed, pointing to the posted signs. In front of the security, the teen did a backward dive anyway then laughed mockingly at the security guard together with all his other friends in the pool. This was happening while another guest was videotaping & their 2 nannies laying down on the lounge chairs. The security guy went out then returned with who seemed to be a translator, although these kids spoke perfect English. The translator & security then left the pool area, & as soon as they left, the same teen did the same backward dive followed by the same mocking laugh by all of them. This was really irritating to me, so I went outside & spoke with the 2 security guards explaining the need to reinforce rules for the peace of other visitors & told them what we witnessed & how rules are there to be followed, otherwise, if there are any injuries, lawsuits happen, the costs passed on to members like us. Further, I said, we have been a member for at least 25 years & we have never experienced this in any of the resorts we have visited. All the poor security guards could tell me was that "We cannot do anything. We tried, but the manager is in control & we cannot do anything." Defeated, I went back to my family in the spa. The teens looked at me as I went back in, talked amongst themselves, laughing, mocking, & the same teen did another backwards dive. This went on for a while. Then the 3 teens [Asians] in the outside pool came in & decided to use the other spa. As soon as they sat down, the teens in the pool pointed at them, then 4 of them moved to the spa with the other quiet teen & started rough housing, even going under the water of the spa doing swim strokes. This went on for a few minutes. One of the 3 teens [Asian] went to the security guy who then came in to speak with the other teens [middle eastern]. My daughter told the security what was happening. I told the teens [middle easter] to stop what they were doing & one of them, the one who was going underwater told me "Stop talking to me! You cannot talk to me!" At this point, my husband told the security "Then need to leave. They need to leave now." One of the security guys then pulled a few of them outside, but then a few minutes later, they came back. The manager Cecilia came to also speak with us. We were so irritated at this point, we decided to leave [about 8 pm]. The other teens [Asian] thanked us over & over. As a concerned mom, I advised them to also leave & tell their parents what had happened so so when we left, they too booted out of there fast.
We thought that was the end of that. On Friday, August 1st, our last night, we returned late from Paris. My husband & I decided to check out ahead of time. I did not look at my phone while we were in the lobby because Cecilia came to speak with us & also the translator. Upon return to our unit, my daughter said "Mom, you were not checking your phone. The group of teens followed us here [she walked back to the unit ahead of time with my sister & brother in law; that was a blessing she was with them] & started ringing the door bell & banging not just on our door, but also on the other neighbor's doors also." I called the office right away & they offered to send security which I declined due to the time, we were so tired from our day trip, & we did not see the point as the bullies were gone; perhaps they went back to their units & tucked in by their nannies to the relief of other visitors.
Please hire security guards who can reinforce the resort rules. Note of Thanks to Cecilia who tried, the security guards who tried. Note of huge thanks to Hamada who was the most pleasant & responsive during our stay. We will not be back."
