"We stayed here between 12th to 26th May and I’m currently writing this as we are waiting for our transfer to Reus airport hence the long review!
Check in was quick and easy, the room was available earlier than the usual check in time so all good.
Our room was number 320 and was light, airy and modern, looks like it was recently refurbished, we had contacted the hotel previously by email and also using the contact form on their website , even though we done this on multiple occasions we never received any response, we had wanted a price for the suites on the 6th floor with the larger balconies and sun beds on them but as it turned out they were in the process of being refurbished anyway, we did find out the price though which was 150 euros per room per night so quite expensive as this was on top of what you already had paid.
On the surface the room was great, cleaned daily to a high standard, having a fridge was great, we just removed the shelves and stood up our own bottles of water/juice etc
We brought our own kettle and cups as we knew that they were not provided but were available to hire.
We found the beds a bit hard and asked at reception if mattress protectors were available and when we came back from dinner they had been fitted, really good service.
The bathroom was really modern with a great rain and also smaller wall mounted shower which was great for me at 5’3, nice quality products as well, lovely thick towels changed when required.
Adequate storage and hanging space, very narrow built in shelves in wardrobe that were not really designed for putting clothes into neatly.
The downside to the rooms are the extremely thin walls, you hear absolutely everything from people talking, snoring, playing music, taking showers, opening and closing drawers and other more personal stuff if you know what I mean.
We landed really unlucky with an extremely loud Irish woman in the next room, she really impacted our peace by constantly FaceTiming people and talking so loud you could hear her voice from the outside, she was constantly drunk and coming back from town in the early hours and talking/shouting with absolutely no consideration for anyone, we did speak to reception and were informed that security could intervene if necessary.
Regarding the restaurant, we were half board, breakfast was nice and a reasonable selection of cereals, fruit, only plain yogurt, omelettes were available but we didn’t like them much, various cooked items, hash browns were brilliant, nice choice of pastries and also fresh pancakes etc
Evening meals were hit or miss, mainly miss, really limited choices and we struggled most nights, the soups were very tasty as were the desserts, the chef was always cheerful and seemed to enjoy his job which is more than can be said for the majority of the restaurant staff who seemed to be grumpy, not all of them but a good few looked like they were really unhappy.
The layout of the restaurant is very poor with only one queue and people were constantly pushing in not wanting to wait.
The tables are so close together that there was always someone bumping into your chair trying to get past rather than go the slightly longer way around.
There are only 2 lifts up to the rooms and they could be busy at certain times, they are pretty small and even though it says that there is capacity for 6 people you could really only get 4 people comfortably in to them.
The first few nights in the restaurant we were ignored for drinks orders so ended up taking our own water after that , the staff were quite petty and would remove the glasses from the table when we declined drinks which is maybe just procedure.
The rooftop pool was lovely but got really busy and we were lucky enough to have used it a few times during our stay, we ended up using the quiet pool at the back of the hotel and it was really good, we enjoyed using the pool, initially it seemed cold but we soon got used to it, lovely way to cool off on a sunny day.
You are able to change your evening meal to a lunch time one by speaking to reception, we decided to not have our evening meal the last night of our stay and have lunch on our last day instead as our pickup time was around 5pm to Reus for our TUI flight back to Glasgow.
We had a lovely relaxing time only spoiled by a few issues and with this in mind we personally wouldn’t return unless the walls were soundproofed and the evening menu was extended to accommodate a better choice for guests who wanted more than seafood as their main meal."
