Holiday Inn Manchester - City Centre

"Excellent Stay. I am a IHG Member and booked two rooms, one for myself and the other for my friend for overnight, we we going to a Show that evening. I arrived early (around 12) and was able to leave my case so I could go shopping. We were able to access our rooms slightly earlier (2.30pm). We had rooms 304 and 306. I was slightly concerned re noise level as we were very close to the lifts, suffice to say we didnt have any noise apart from once when a large group of American School/College Children (around 16yr olds) thought it was okay to sit on the floor opposite the lifts, chatting very loudly! It was obvious it was a "mtg" place for them all to chat and chill. The noise was incredible! To be fair, we asked them to move and they were very polite and went off to someone's room. Obviously not the Hotel's fault but as is so often the case, it can be other guests. The room was really smart, great bathroom, very modern. We were at the front and we thought the sound proofing was good. You can hear trams but its not at all loud. A bottle of water would have been nice to add to the tea and coffee facilities. That being said, there was a fridge so I bought my own. We had an evening meal which was very nice and a lovely breakfast the next day, lots of choice. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We checked out late (as IHG Member). All in all we loved this Hotel and will definately book again. Thank you."

"Good - location. (But there are others similarly and equally well situated) Price (on this occasion - it changes) Size of room Bad - ‘welcome’ - it was lukewarm at best - I’m a member but there was no reason to be as the man at check in couldn’t have cared less Windows don’t open - it was in the middle of a heatwave TV didn’t work properly - remote was useless housekeeping didn’t clean properly (shower had dirty marks when I arrived - and when I left - things in room weren’t replaced - ironing board stayed up throughout stay Extra room card to keep air con on (during heatwave) was removed by housekeeping Noise levels were high Cigarette smell in corridor on arrival and next day Last time i stayed i felt I was well looked after, this time I just felt like a bit of a nuisance. Nobody made the stay in any way special. I don’t want to go somewhere where I’m unsure of the reception I’ll get so I’ll go elsewhere in future."

"Fantastic Hotel rooms were very spacious and comfortable , the staff went out of their way to help & assist , Sharon on reception and Yannis the manager were fantastic at resolving an issue ."
