Holiday Inn Express Manchester - Trafford City

"I booked a 2-night stay for my family (2 adults and our 4-year-old child) in a room specified with a double bed and a sofa bed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. 1. Unclean room and wrong room type upon check-in We checked in at 9:00 PM and were made to wait 30 minutes, presumably while they cleaned the room. "This was chosen as it was close to the Trafford centre and Bowlers Arena for Comic-Con - the on site parking is good and only £5 a day, WIFI is free. One of the reception staff, blonde haired woman was very rude and I don't know why she chose her job. The overall layout of the hotel was good, clean and spacious. The room we stayed in was room 217 and it had a slight new room smell, you know like new furniture, maybe because for a twin room they classed that as a double bed and dragged in a single sofa bed, leaving not a lot of room to move. The bathroom light flickered, the shower was unpredictable and I just felt like the room needed a facelift. There was thankfully air con as the room does get extremely stuffy. The breakfast only had gluten free cereal, they did make me some gluten free toast, we pre informed them I thought we'd get gluten free muffins or something, but no. The location was near the tram station and about 0.9 miles to the Trafford centre. It was a convenient location and it did ok for a 2 night stay. The noise levels were very quiet."

"Very clean and tidy hotel. Was a little bit squashed with 3 of us with the sofa bed pulled out. Kept catching our leg going by. That was the only downside. Had everything we needed tho for the price. Staff friendly and a good choice for breakfast. Plenty of seating area downstairs to have a little drink in the evening. Would definitely stay again."
