Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport

"Stayed overnight for a morning flight, obviously. The place is definitely a high-volume hotel that offers the basics. We had no issues with cleanliness or service, those were all great. The bed was rather soft and sagging, and the sofa bed totally fine for a child but might be quite uncomfortable for an adult. Breakfast had a good deal of variety but everything tasted quite average. A chance to fuel up before a flight but not exactly a gastronomical delight. The price for the room was good, though, so none of this comes as a surprise! I might stay again if I had a morning flight out of Manchester."

"Stayed here for a night before an early morning flight from Manchester. We had a park and stay package with APH airport parking (7 mins drive away) and an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn. Our twin room was a decent size with a very good shower. Not 5 star but perfectly adequate. There is a small bar area downstairs but this was quite busy due to the football being shown, so we walked to the Premier Inn next door and had a drink there due to their bar area being much bigger. There is also a decent pub a 5 minute walk away but we never went. We had a meal in the Holiday Inn restaurant (which was nice and spacious) and took advantage of the meal deal of any 2 pizzas for £25. To the hotels credit both of our pizzas were actually superb, and as good as you will get at many Italian restaurants. We checked out at 3am for our flight and a nice touch was the hotel laying out some food for those who were checking out before official breakfast times. There were croissants, pastries, fruit, coffee, juices etc. For a good value airport stay I’d recommend this hotel, albeit it’s not somewhere you’d go for your honeymoon."

"Very poor experience at the start of a much needed holiday. I hadn’t realised there were two holiday inns at the airport. After accidentally going to the wrong one, we were told to get the shuttle bus from terminal 2 to the correct hotel by a staff member. When we found the stop, a good five minutes away, we had to ring for the bus. It turned up eventually and the driver was telling us that he may not be able to fit us on despite letting people behind us in the queue on the bus first. After challenging him, he let us on. We got to the hotel, a five minute drive away and he asked me to pay £6 for the journey. I was perplexed and didn’t understand why the hotel shuttle is charging me! Turns out the hotel employ these private minibuses to do the job for them and never mentioned this. Not only did I pay the £6, I had to do it again upon check out. No apologies from the hotel or effort to explain. A horrible experience and start to a holiday."
