"We have stayed at this hotel numerous times as a couple and also with our grandchildren. We returned yesterday with our two granddaughters and arrived at the official check-in time of 2pm o be told the room wasn't ready. That's ok I can accept that sometimes house keeping overruns so we dropped out bags and went out to explore. We came back to the hotel just gone 5pm to be told that the room still wasn't ready. When I pointed out to the receptionist that we had lost three hours of our stay and my two 10 year old granddaughters had just traipsed around the city and just wanted to get to the room for a chill I was accused of being rude. The receptionist said this wasn't her problem it was down to housekeeping, their was no apology, no sorry we'll refund you three hours of your stay, no sorry we'll refund you three hours of the parking we just charged you, no sorry have a complimentary breakfast, all these the minimum I would expect from a proper hotel chain. Absolutely unprofessional member of staff, her attitude was awful and to be accused of being rude was laughable. Sort it out Novotel"

"I had a very poor experience with the handling of my booking and Best Price Guarantee claim. I submitted my request on 13 July and was told it had been received and was being verified, but I still had no proper resolution when I chased for an update. When I spoke to the hotel directly, the manager Olivia was dismissive and rude. She told me the hotel could match the base rate but would not honour the agreed discount because no payment had been made, which does not reflect the terms of the Best Price Guarantee. What made this worse was the condescending comment I was given about trying to find cheaper hotel rooms elsewhere. I found the whole interaction unprofessional and upsetting. I cancelled my booking and am staying elsewhere. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. Hotels are about a home away from home. Supposed to be a 4 star but they have 1star customer service."
