Holiday Inn Express Bristol City Centre

"I have stayed at various IHG hotels including holiday inn but I have to say this was by far the worst experience I gmhave had to date. We arrived late at night and went to our room where the 1st thing I had to do was wash the shower tray it was full of haolir and had a ban aid in it .. too late to go down and start complaining as we were extremely tired. I pushed out a bed to find items below it .. clearly housekeeping hoover around the bed only. When I went to breakfast the following morning and reported this at the desk the receptionist without eye contact stated she would let house keeping know .. nothing more not even an apology. Really disappointed and as a member I definitely will never stay here again nir recommend to anyone So disappointing"

"Excellent location directly across short walk away from Bristol Temple Meads station, this hotel is ideal for short stays for anyone wanting to be close to the train station and easy walk to Bristol centre and buses are in front of the station too. I stayed here to get trains to and from Cardiff for the Metallica concert at Principality stadium. Hotels in Cardiff were ridiculously overpriced (£200+ a night for 'budget' hotels) because of the concert and Alter Bridge played at the Castle the night before, so it was wise to book this hotel which was MUCH cheaper under £70 including a good breakfast next morning. Rooms are basic as with all Holiday Inn Express properties. I was glad they at least provide tissues and shampoo with body wash, no hair conditioner but at least something. The selection of teas and coffees is good. I requested a quiet room on high floor away from lifts and I got exactly that. 5th floor, room was very comfortable. I will definitely stay in this hotel again if attending any event in Cardiff or Bristol. It was fun at breakfast because most of us had been at the same concert the evening before. I would suggest another coffee machine as queue to use the coffee machine wasn't fun at all. Definitely two machines needed considering it was a very busy breakfast. The food was okay, can't complain for the price paid compared to what it would've cost staying in Cardiff!"

"Stayed here for 1 night while going to a gig in the Bristol Beacon. Friendly welcome, good room, venue and city centre is walkable from the hotel, breakfast next morning was good - not the best selection (no continental option, only one type of yoghurt, not much fruit), but the basic needs were covered. Saturday night rates are quite high as it's a big city, but I would probably stay here again. Convenient location opposite the train station and for catching buses. Parking available (at a charge). Wasn't sure whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. I'd say it's 3.5 (Not "very good", but better than "average", so quite "good".)"
