"Arrived around 8pm on the first night, greeted at reception and accessing the room on the first floor with no problem. Upon closing the door, the lack of noise insulation immediately became apparent. We could hear everything, including people moving around downstairs, walking past the room, or using the stairs.
Some of the staff were friendly, others appeared to actively avoid eye contact. The room itself was quite small, with a largeish bed and an unnecessarily large desk. The toilet was nicely furnished and clean.
We got no sleep the first night. The neighbouring room was watching something apparently extremely funny until around 2am, briefly stopping just long enough to suggest sleep might be possible. At around 4am, two drunk ladies began screaming and running up and down the stairs, knocking on various doors for about an hour. We were concerned that something genuinely terrible was occurring. This concern was not eased when we later found out that the hotel doors are left unlocked all night, so it remains unclear whether these people were guests.
At around 5:30/6am, once the shouting stopped, the kitchen staff began clashing and banging while preparing breakfast. Sleep was therefore not achieved.
Eventually, through exhaustion, we fell asleep and woke up at around 12pm, effectively losing the first day of our holiday. That evening, we had dinner and returned to the room, only to experience much the same again. On the final night, two very drunk people arrived in the adjacent room at around 10pm and continued barking at each other until 1am. The entire conversation was clearly audible through the wall, which appeared to be made of a single layer of paper mache.
To summarise the soundproofing, it was possible to hear people urinating in nearby rooms.
Overall, the experience was unfavourable due to a complete lack of sleep. I can’t comment on the food, as we were too sleep deprived to make the brief breakfast slot, although it must have been tasty as we could hear the microwave beeping through the floor at 7am.
The hotel is not far from the city centre. There are not many restaurants nearby, though there are a few acceptable coffee shops. The main positive is the almost 24/7 casino in the basement, with a minimum roulette entry of 50 PLN.
At times it felt less like a hotel stay and more like a controlled study into human sleep deprivation. I wish this were exaggerated, but it is not. The hotel is relatively cheap. Ear protection is advised."
