"I stayed at Hotel Montecarlo for four nights. The location is excellent—within walking distance of major landmarks, centrally located, and in a safe area. The check-in and check-out process itself was smooth and efficient.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing.
I was assigned Room 314, which is directly next to the elevator, staircase, and a linen closet. If you are a light sleeper or enjoy sleeping in, I strongly recommend requesting a different room. Housekeeping starts early, and the noise from staff conversations, carts, and general activity was constant. The staff did not appear mindful of how disruptive this could be to guests.
The room was modest in size with only one small window, offering very limited natural light. It felt dark and somewhat depressing. The carpet had visible stains and looked like it needed a deep cleaning. Most frustrating of all was an incessant water-dripping sound—like a leaky faucet—that continued throughout my stay. At first, I thought it was raining, but there was no rain. I was sleep deprived for four nights.
I mentioned these concerns to Massimo, but nothing was done to resolve them.
I had booked directly through the hotel’s website because it advertised specific perks for direct bookings: a welcome bottle of Prosecco, afternoon tea, other benefits, and late checkout at 2:00 p.m. However, standard checkout at the hotel is 11:00 a.m., and when I inquired about the promised perks, I was told that since I declined the €20-per-day breakfast option, I was not entitled to those benefits. This condition was never stated on the website. I fail to see how breakfast is connected to advertised direct-booking perks. The response felt dismissive and unprofessional.
I chose not to escalate the issue further because I didn’t want to start my trip on a negative note, but the lack of transparency and accountability left a bad impression.
While the location is fantastic, the noise issues, room condition, and failure to honor advertised benefits significantly impacted my stay. I would not return unless these concerns were addressed."
