Spartia Holidays

An idyllic village by the sea

If you love getting stuck into a good book, relaxing in a local café with a coffee or strolling down to the beach for a morning swim, then Spartia holidays are for you. This sleepy little village is located a 15-minute drive southeast of Kefalonia Airport and is a serene and pretty place to spend a holiday. The pace on holidays to Spartia is charmingly slow. The village isn’t packed with shops or activity centres, but that’s what makes it so appealing for many.

While the buzzy resort towns nearby are lined with bars and restaurants, Spartia has just a handful – one of which has particularly spectacular views out over the sea. The village isn’t located right on the coast, but Spartia beach is within walking distance. If you’re keen to explore more of the island, which is dotted with wineries, secluded beaches and the towering Mount Ainos, then hiring a car will give you the freedom to do so.

Late-night bars and clubs don’t feature here, but you can head to the beach for a sundowner or meal at a relaxed bar or restaurant overlooking the sea.
The nearest beach is a leisurely 30-minute stroll away. If you’re keen to explore the others on the island, it’s best to hire a car and drive to them.
It’s a quiet Greek village, so it’s more about relaxing than sightseeing – think flower-draped houses and one or two traditional Greek restaurants, with a lovely beach nearby.
