Coudour Boutique Hotel

"We stayed at this hotel in August with some friends and, unfortunately, our experience was decidedly negative. The only thing we can consider positive is the air conditioning, which worked well. For the rest, we encountered numerous problems. The bathroom was dilapidated, with a tiny sink, practically the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Every time we showered, the bathroom flooded. The bathroom door was broken and the general conditions were truly unacceptable. The room was dirty and the cleaning was very poor. Only the linens were changed every two days. One episode, in particular, left us in disbelief: we left two dirty towels on the floor, naturally expecting them to be replaced. Instead, they were simply picked up and hung back up, evidently to be reused. Something truly unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The furnishings were also absolutely inadequate: the closet was tiny, with very few hangers and no drawers. The nightstands consisted of two simple pieces of wood hanging on the wall. The shelf under the mirror was dangling and therefore practically unusable. Services were practically nonexistent and often there was no one at the reception; furthermore, the reception closed in the evening. Breakfast was also a big disappointment: always the same things, very repetitive and not even particularly good. The cleanliness of the dining room left much to be desired: tables were cleared of crumbs, which were simply swept onto the floor, but the floor was never cleaned during our 15-day stay. But the most serious and disconcerting episodes were others. One evening, while we were sitting chatting on the porch where breakfast is served, several mice appeared, running back and forth on the wooden ledge. We saw quite a few of them, and the situation was truly disgusting and disturbing. The presence of so many rodents made us think that there could be a nest nearby. Furthermore, we were never able to use the pool, even though it was one of the facility's amenities. The water was green and looked anything but inviting, so much so that we gave up on entering it completely. In this case too, the cleaning and maintenance conditions seemed absolutely inadequate to us. After a 15-day stay, we can say that the price-quality ratio was absolutely disappointing. We expected at least adequate cleaning, hygiene, and maintenance conditions, but unfortunately, that was not the case. A facility that, in our experience, certainly needs a serious overhaul regarding both cleaning and hygiene, and the maintenance of the rooms and common areas."

"Concrete hotel, very practical when you have to take the ferry but not for staying there. If I had to do it again, I would book elsewhere and drive more miles in the morning. Unappealing bathroom, hygiene not really respectable. Ceiling shower that doesn't work, it's better to keep something on your feet to wash, dirty faucets, leftover products that have stained, concrete floor, gross. The pool, green water, gross, enough to catch traveler's diarrhea for sure. We didn't want to eat there even though there is a restaurant, too scared after seeing the kitchens and the cleaning in the common areas. Low-end, noisy clientele. Non-existent parking."

"I booked the hotel back when there were no real photos available, only visualizations. Later, I found out online that this used to be the "Sunrise In" hotel, which is now supposedly fully renovated and refurbished. In the visualizations, it looked beautiful and cozy, but the reality is completely different and highly disappointing. The hotel has merely received a fresh coat of paint. The furniture is old and un-renovated, and the rooms feel uncomfortable and messy. The bathroom floors and walls have no tiles, the cabinet drawers are taped shut so they cannot be opened, and the curtains are too long, dragging on the floor, painted mirror.. The doors are just old, poorly repaired doors—even though the hotel supposedly reopened after its renovation just 1 to 2 months ago. The renovation work was done very carelessly and cheaply. The only positive things are that the bed is comfortable to sleep in and the air conditioning system works well. I am attaching the photos of the room."
