Apollonion Asterias Resort

"Greeted on arrival by friend and very helpful receptionists and then taken to our room by golf buggy. This is a large but well laid out complex and seems relatively flat with ramps where needed for less able. Within easy flat walking distance are a few beach bars and antenellos taverna for food. There are two beaches within a 5-10 minute flat walk the beach to the left as you look out to sea is wonderful, if you walk along and around the rocks (paddle ankle deep) it stretches about 1/2 -1 mile. Gorgeous clear water and later some pretty rock formations, so peaceful we only saw a few people on the beach that way. For other local places to visit will need to get a bus to lixouri, and from there a lovely cheap quick ferry to Argostoli (3.50 each plus 3.50 per car). I’m not sure on the frequency of buses I didn’t see any so probably infrequent, we had a hire car which I would recommend as so many beautiful place to see that are otherwise inaccessible. Rooms- our room was a very modern, clean and well appointed room, we had robes, slippers and it felt quite a luxury feel due to the modern vibe. Shower was excellent. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion replaced everyday so no need to take. Lovely balcony with table and chairs to sit and relax. Electronic shutters which when shut makes the room a total blackout and total soundproofing too so you have no idea if it’s day or night once inside with shutters down! Food in restaurant tasty and we could always find something. Overall i’d class this as a very good four star. We booked direct and got a great price, check it out, it’s lovely."

"Hotel was beautiful. Rooms were large and very clean . No rush for sunbeds as there were plenty about. Food was varied but only warm but not a worry for us. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. Couldnt do enough for you. We were in foom 608 in the asterias part of the hotel,fantastic view across the pool out to the sea. It was a real pity about Xi beach ,apparentlt its been eaten away over the last few years by storms. Fantastic meal one night at Varadiani island restaurant. Fantastic views and lovely meal"
