Best Western Raphael Hotel Altona

"Very disappointing experience. I booked a Family Room with one double bed and one sofa bed through Booking.com. The booking confirmation even states that a 12-year-old child stays free of charge. When we arrived, the hotel charged me an additional €32 simply because my second 12-year-old child was staying in the room. We did not receive a larger room, an extra bed, or any additional services. We used exactly the same double bed and sofa bed that were already included in the booking. The reception staff were also unable to communicate properly in English, making it very difficult to understand why this extra charge was being imposed. I feel this was unfair and misleading. Families should be very careful when booking here, as you may face unexpected charges at check-in despite what your booking confirmation says."

"The room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and featured a window, which added a nice touch of natural light and ventilation. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions for walking routes and restaurants nearby. Overall, the hotel offers a very good value for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hamburg."

"This is a good affordable hotel, I spent one nigth here alon. Be ware that it is a 2/3-star hotel. You get what you are paying for. Helpful staff, good but small room. Cleaning is good, bed is good. There is parking in the back if yoyu need this. It is close to Altona Bahnhof which was important for me. Here you have direct access to the S-bahn network. I did not try breakfast or any services provided by the hotel with the exception of WiFi."
