"We booked this holiday last minute (literally the day before travelling) but got it for an absolute bargain price. Travelling last minute meant we didn’t get to read up on the reviews like we normally would before booking, but luckily the things I usually look out for weren’t an issue at this resort. The location is quiet and not particularly close to much, the beach is a few minutes walk away, but it’s not somewhere I could spend the day. A few shops, bars, restaurants and a pharmacy are very close walking distance.
The complex itself is massive, with various pools dotted around. One huge perk of the hotel was that the pools are on the shallow side, except one, but with a 4 year old and a 9 year old, it worked out well for us as they’re one depth throughout. You then also have the waterpark on site, which is actually great, kept the kids entertained for hours on multiple days. My 4 year old was also allowed to ride the bigger slides, we just needed to catch her off the bottom. The pool next to the Indian Restaurant was possibly my favourite, at 0.8m, it was great for us. Also, we were in Block E, so was really close to our room. Didn’t witness sun bed wars, moved around pools and was able to get loungers at all of them.
The food and drink are what really let this hotel down for us unfortunately. The Italian restaurant was the nicest by far, but just make sure you get in early with reservations! The fizzy drinks are unbranded versions, and a lot of them were hit and miss as to whether they would be fizzy or have a good syrup to soda ratio. The proton shop across the road to the right had the cheaper branded drinks, so we went there a few times to stock up. The gyros from the snack bars were lovely, better at the snack bar near Herbs/block J, but you got a better portion at the Waterpark pool bar and they put lovely seasoning on. The chicken was definitely better than the pork. Sometimes long waits for this but worth it. Unlimited delicious ice cream was a lovely touch and well received by my family. The queues at the snack bars could be crazy long, at the block J snack bar, they had a separate line for Gyros, but there wasn’t one at the Waterpark bar. There was no bottled water available as part of the all inclusive either, you had to purchase this if you wanted it from the shop. The restaurant was kept open for late arrivals, this was a nice touch. They take you for food before you check in. The check in was scanning a QR code, which is strange.
Our room had a few issues, the shower flooded out and all over the bathroom every time it was used. Also wasn’t a fan of the frosted glass door with gaps all round as this gave minimal privacy, especially with it being on the “children’s” side of the family room. The air con unit only being in one side of the room sometimes didn’t allow cooler air to circulate into the kids side of the room. It was lovely and cool when it got going, but could be very noisy whilst it was on. Storage was an issue too, cupboards without shelves and minimal coat hangers, so bare this in mind. If I was coming back, I’d be tempted to bring Velcro wardrobe shelves so I could keep clothes separated and more coat hangers. There is a kettle in the room, and two small cups and saucers. No spoons. The beds were a bit on the soft side, not too much of an issue, but the pillows were very thick and firm. There’s not much soundproofing to the rooms next door, which is a problem if you’re a light sleeper. The curtains aren’t very blackout - so the room is never totally dark. Door numbers were quite hard to see, but I did like the light system which showed if a room was occupied or you were out.
Kids loved the fun park but this could become expensive if you used it every day. It was great for the England World Cup match, as the screen is so big and there are lots of seats.
As with most holidays, it’s what you make of it. I never mark down for other guests being noisy or rude, all inclusive food being repetitive, rooms not being perfectly clean. You will find a lot of rudeness whenever it comes to usual situations that require patience and manners, like waiting your turn in a line.
We would absolutely return to this hotel, id just pack pillows! The price we paid for 5 nights all inclusive really was great value, despite buying branded drinks and snacks elsewhere."
