easyJet holidays has reached a major sustainability milestone, now offering more than 3,000 Certified Sustainable hotels across its beach and city destinations, resulting in almost one million customers staying in a Certified Sustainable hotel in the last year.

Each property has been independently verified against recognised sustainability standards, reinforcing the company’s commitment creating better holiday choices for its customers, as part of its mission to make more sustainable holidays mainstream.

New metric focuses on customer choices

To accelerate meaningful change, easyJet holidays has shifted its core sustainability metric to focus on the percentage of outbound customers staying in certified hotels, prioritising behaviour change rather than simply expanding supply. In the past year alone, easyJet holidays has seen a 21% increase in the number of customers choosing to stay in a Certified Sustainable hotel.

Sustainable stays delivering higher customer satisfaction

Customers choosing Certified Sustainable hotels report customer satisfaction scores 4.5 percentage points higher than average, demonstrating that more sustainable choices also enhance the overall holiday experience.

Driving industry-wide capability and alignment

Over the past 12 months, easyJet holidays has significantly expanded its sustainability capability across its hotel portfolio, delivering GSTC‑aligned training to more than 100 hotel partners. By increasing the number of certified properties, the business is helping to drive positive, long‑term impact in the destinations its customers visit.

To help customers make informed choices, the tour operator has enhanced visibility of certified properties through:

  • A dedicated Certified Sustainable deals page

  • Improved certification filters across its website and trade portal

  • Targeted engagement with high‑volume hotel partners to accelerate certification progress

Matt Callaghan, Chief Operating Officer at easyJet holidays said:

“As a leading tour operator, we have a responsibility not only to offer more sustainable choices, but to help more customers choose them.

“Reaching more than 3,000 Certified Sustainable hotels is an important milestone, and with nearly one million easyJet holidays customers staying in a Certified Sustainable hotel in the last year, we’re demonstrating that more sustainable travel is becoming increasingly mainstream. What’s more, sustainability and quality can go hand in hand, as shown by Certified Sustainable hotels scoring 4.5 percentage points higher than average.

“While we’re proud of the progress we’ve made, we’re focused on going further by continuing to invest in our hotel partners, building industry capability and making it easier for customers to make informed choices.”

The growth of easyJet holidays’ Certified Sustainable collection forms part of its award-winning ESG strategy, Holiday Better, which aims to make more sustainable holidays mainstream.
