My Motel

"I booked a one night stay through Hotels.com, pad up front and the booking was confirmed by Hotels.com. When I arrived I was told by the receptionist that the room was "damaged". I asked for another room but was told no other room was available. I was then told a refund would be processed within 5 working days. I am still awaiting the refund (4 Oct)! I havetried to get a refund from Hotels.com who have said "We've contacted My Motel to see if they could make an exception and grant a refund. Unfortunately, after multiple tries, we weren't able to obtain an approval from the property manager to refund your reservation. This means the current rules and restrictions for your booking apply and a refund can't be granted. We're really sorry about this...." Should have read the reviews on trustpilot for both the hotel and Hotels.com!!!!!!!!!!"

"Terrible place. I booked through booking. Com in Feb. Arrived in September and they said they had told booking. Com to cancel 4 months previously due to renovations. Not factual according to booking. Com. Whilst I waited on refund lots of undesirable people coming in and out, strong smell of cannabis. After googiling this hotel I discover locals are trying to have it closed down due to disturbances, fights etc by it's tenants who are homeless people and people newly released from prison."

"Arrived and there were 2 guys drinking beer out of their boot in the car park, checked in and immediately got a feeling of a hostel, absolutely not a motel. Door to corridor didn't work with our key card, halls smelled of marijuana throughout the hotel and when we got to the room we dared not even open our cases. Dirty sheets that had obviously not been changed, spider webs and dead insects in the waves and wardrobe and just a general unclean smell in the room. We immediately checked out after reporting these issues, the receptionist said about the marjuana smell that "he can't do anything about his guests behaviour" and I asked for a refund via Expedia and he said ok. Now the hotel are denying all of the above and say that it is their policy to not refund customers if they leave! Avoid at all costs, these guys are cowboys."
