Ingliston Country Club

"I was really looking forward to our lunch on Monday 25th. However things did not go as well as they should. We went in on Saturday and whilst having a drink decided to book for lunch on the Monday. The receptionist took the booking but advised that she did not know about the restaurant when I asked how the menus and where we sat worked. Our booking was for 1pm and we arrived prompt as I had received 2 texts to confirm the booking. The first issue was that I was told our booking was for inside and they were struggling to fit us in outside. The receptionist had not advised us that there was a difference in booking inside or outside. It was a beautiful day and obviously we preferred to be outside. Kai, the supervisor told us she would get menus and a drinks order shortly. After 15 minutes I eventually managed to catch someone and we got menus and placed a drinks order. Again we waited a while till the food order was taken. After an hour we got the starter (only 1 had been ordered). A further half hour later I approached Kai to ask how much longer we were likely to be. She was very apologetic and advised she had chased the kitchen again for us. 15 minutes later we got the food, the food was excellent and Kai did come to check we were happy with it. We waited for our plates to be cleared and I had to ask for dessert menus, as the young lady serving us was very poor at being proactive about her tables. I noticed a number of tables having to ask her for more drinks, I don't think she once asked any table if they needed anything. Her demeanor and manner were poor. Kai, came with the desert menus and told us we would not be charged for them. She really did care and was very, good on a very busy day, but was let down by the team and the kitchen. I was happy to add a small gratuity as I know from experience how hard that job is having spent 20 odd years in hotel management. We will be back, the venue is really lovely and from our experience on Saturday the staff are very good, but Monday seems to have been an off day all round."

"Booked the 3 bed luxury lodge for 6 adults and loved it. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Robes and slippers for hot tub and sauna we had out back along with seating and table. Inside was a Large dining table, comfortable seating area and all kitchen amenities needed. Beds clean and comfortable, one room with en-suite, one 2 single beds and one with bunk beds which wasn’t ideal for a near 60 year old trying to get out in morning 😂. Beautiful setting watching horses trot past. Definitely recommend a stay here and sharing the cost with others it works out cheap enough. One thing I need to highlight is the staff. I have never came across so many nice, helpful and friendly individuals in the one place…bravo, you are a credit to the hotel."

"Was excited to return to ingliston for a lunch. The chicken tempura was awful, nothing like it was before the batter was not crispy at all. The chicken fajitas were bland and chewy chicken, no to mention the wraps were cold. My daughters chicken goujons and chips were meant to come with the starter and didn’t. I didn’t want to create a fuss and assumed they would come with the main only for our main to come and realise they had forgot her chicken nuggets. We had waited an hour and 20 mins at this point so you can imagine how frustrated my 3 year old was given we had now eaten twice before her lunch came. Service was so slow and then they added on a £8.75 service charge. Very disappointed for a place we used to love and our wedding venue. No one asked if any of our meal was ok and given I hardly touched the fajitas I was surprised the waitress never asked if anything was wrong."
