"Been going to this hotel for years as I believe it’s best value and in a great location. Only downsides this time were a random Person knocking at my door at 7.45am who must have been given the wrong key or number by reception. Also this isn’t the staffs fault but some of the guests at the buffet acted like the world was ending ridiculous portions of food which a lot was left, pushing past people to get food and hovering over your shoulder when you were waiting for toast - really think the staff should ask people to be seated first before letting people in as quite a few people were wondering around with plates and nowhere to sit"

"We arrived here very late after a delayed coach from Belfast. We entered the hotel behind another couple from our coach and were immedially questioned in a rude manner about coming into the hotel. We felt that we were expected to stand out in the cold and wait for permission to come in. When our turn came to check in we were not greeted as members and were given the usual key card saying what benefits we would have got if we were members. This is despit booking through the app with members rates. We were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than welcome guests. Despite getting there very late we were given an adapted room next to the lift ensuring that we would be wakened by other guests in the morning. The room itself was musty and smelled of vomit around the bed. The tiles under the sink in the bath room were cracked. But we were too exhausted after a very long journey to complain. Breakfast was the usual offering but the choices were more limiting. The door to the coffee machine was swinging open and when I mentioned this to a staff member I got a very rude reply . This was the second Holiday Inn express we had stayed in within a week ( The other being Cardiff Bay) and the contrast was amazing. On leaving I asked if the hotel was full. I was told it was quite full but not completely full. When I then asked why then we were given the adapted room next to the lift the story changed to the hotel now being totally full and it was the only room left. We chose this hotel because we knew we would be leaving next morning and wanted something close to the Bus station."
