Hampton by Hilton Glasgow Central

"I had a bit of a mixed stay at the Hampton in Glasgow City Centre. There were some definite high points, but a few maintenance and service issues held it back from being a great experience. The Good: The Room: The rooms are impressively spacious and modern. Sleep Quality: The beds are very comfortable, and I was particularly impressed with the noise-canceling. Despite being in the city centre, the room was pin-drop quiet. It’s always nice to have a large TV in the room that actually fits the space. The Not-So-Good: Room Maintenance: My air conditioning wasn't working, which made the room a bit stuffy. Additionally, a faulty light switch meant the lights kept turning themselves off unexpectedly. Breakfast Experience: This was the most frustrating part. The coffee machine was out of order, and the toaster was incredibly slow it literally took about 10 minutes just to get any colour on a slice of bread. Overall: If you prioritize a quiet, comfortable room and a good night's sleep, this hotel is a solid choice. However, they really need to look at their breakfast equipment and room maintenance to ensure everything is in working order for guests."

"High price tag, poor stay: The staff were welcoming and polite however the standard of room and its location in the hotel was very poor The bed was extremely hard, lumpy and very uncomfortable, the very thin quilt was filthy under the open quilt cover. We had very little sleep. Firstly a more comfortable mattress would have been preferable. Although hotel building was centrally located, the room was badly located seemingly above a nightclub/bar where there was very loud noise of people shouting below the window that continued until 4am. Then the bin men turned up at 7am for half an hour! Terrible night’s sleep and could not swap rooms as we had the last one booked at a rate of £225 for one night, far too expensive for the standard of room/hotel and experience. The sofa needed deep cleaning."

"Great hotel. We arrived very early and we were greeted by a friendly cheerful receptionist and very customer orientated called ARI. I asked her if we could leave our bags as I was not expected due to our morning arrival to be able to have the 2 rooms I booked straight away. Well she said we could check in straight away. We had 2 connecting rooms on the 4th floor with a view on the Main Street. The rooms were clean with lovely furniture. Safe in room with Kettle and a huge TV. My only issue was the AC which was not working properly. We had to call reception to reset AC. Unfortunately didn’t last long and the room got very warm. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of eggs, bacon, sausage for people who enjoy a full breakfast . We only eat pastries and bread in the morning and it was nice to be able to make some waffles. Check out is 12.00 which is very good. We left early as still exploring the city and we were able to leave our bags at reception for storage. I do recommend this hotel and if I come back to Glasgow will stay here again."
